I am a bit relieved the car looks like that. Now I don't feel compelled to sell my current RS for the upgrade. If I did, the better value would be a lightly used RS.2 for $50K less that what the 4.0 is likely to cost or just wait a few years for the 991 version.
Me thinks, that's the final car. If you look at Porsche's pix the last couple of years, they all have that rendered feel/look.

These look like the std lightweight backet seats -10kg lighter than the sport bucket seats / no airbags and with a new 4.0 logo, the 3.8RS ones were identical and as an option here for the GT3/ RS but with a flame - retardant fabric..

I agree that these are the same seats as available in Europe with the 3.8RS, but we never get those seats in the US (except with the Carrera GT for some reason).
