Default OT: Sport Classic Spotted in NorCal

I swung by Rector Porsche (Burlingame, CA) this morning. They have a Sport Classic on the showroom floor! Anyone have details on this particular car? Pretty sure the SC was not sold in the US, so, guessing someone had it imported and "tweaked" to meet Fed regulations . . . or, perhaps it is just a show car?

I will try and post some pics soon (I took a couple). The car looks great (better than I thought it would).

The Sport Classic had a sign on it that said "Not for Sale." I didn't look at the VIN. It was roped off. The car looks fantastic (especially the interior). I likey.

It has been on display at Rector for a few months. I like the color, it is really retro when see in person. The Fuch wheels are very nice too, as well as the subtle bubble roof (which I needed to point out to my wife for her to notice it.)

Just personally, the old-school ducktail is a little strange with the modern 997.2 LED tail lamps, kind of contradicting the modern/old theme with each other. No biggie, though.

The price is a shocker at €169,300 and I remember it is not for sale in the US (the Rector car is for display, I believe.)

And with all those special edition 911's rolled out recently, the Sport Classic seems overpriced... To me, it makes the GTS a real bargain.

Regards,

I'd love some more spots of the interior.

the interior is what really make this car feel like a classic...... unfortunately a hard thing to replicate along with the double bubble roof.

Real Sport Classic does not have .2 RS front fender flares plus the wrong color paint and stripes.

This is what I was told by my salesperson from Rector.

There were around 3 sport classics that were sent to the USA.

This one @ Rector is a customers car who is a Porsche fanatic/collector. Porsche bought a few of his classic Porsche collection cars, including I believe a vintage Sports Classic, and as a favor in return, Porsche let this Porsche collector purchase one.

He is letting Rector showcase the car.
