Default GT3 w/ PDK Rennlist Say's So

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...nsmission.html

auto guide is quoting a rennlist forum member and claiming Porsche is readying a GT3 with PDK. So rennlist has the inside info nowadays huh?

If it is on the Internet, it must be true.

The article simply quotes rosenbergendo's post on his private chat with some PAG official. We all commented on it. This is how rumors are started and why we cannot trust what's printed, err... blogged.

ever notice a lot of teamspeed.com renderings of cars that are rumored to be coming into production... great way to drive traffic to your forum :-)

That's funny. We better watch what we say around here.

It would be interesting to see a PDK in a GT3. I know Mike wants one. Hopefully (and I'm sure they will) Porsche will continue to offer a 6speed as well. Unlike Ferrari... I was reading an article on the new Ford Focus and they quoted a number that only around 5% will be sold with manual transmissions. It's almost not worth even producing a manual anymore.

I believe that if a GT3 was offered with both Manual and PDK Porsche would sell both no problems. Porsche can look at the ratio of manual vs PDK sold on Carrera and figure a few more GT3's with manual will be sold due to the purist nature of GT3 buyers....but still I believe a lot of PDK GT3's could be sold.

What is the ratio now? Anybody know? I'm certain most of us would be faster with a PDK car for sure. I know I was at Barber.

it is a kinda mixed feeling for me - right now i know if my clutch goes I will simply put in sachs replacement one and it is a minor pain. what to do when your PDK goes? despite of how great it is - track use will wear it off. it has to.

from what i understand now it is not even possible to open it up for maintenance locally? i do want PDK performance but I do not want to end up with ferrari-like pieces that do cost a fortune to get them serviced with local mechanics not been able to do anything about them.

I wouldn't believe everything that gets posted on Rennlist. After all, remember all those "inside" posts about how limited the RS was going? Over 450 and still counting...

80% PDK, 20% manual.

Only a very small percent of Porsche owners track their car so hardly any of them even think like you or most on these forums.

+1, I think we tend to forget that fact ... we are a minority, although perhaps not in the GT3/RS segment...
