ViperBob recently told me we should steer clear of the red cap version of Mobil 1. Supposedly doesn't have the same lube/heat resistant properties of the extended performance version. Just what I heard, not what I know

The red cap is the conventional, if I'm not mistaken. I think this is the one for the RS:

the 5000 is NOT mobil1 oil as they advertize it and not even synthetic !

I think all Mobil1 have silver cups

The extended performance does not come in 0W 40.

All the shops in my area recommend 15-50 for our climate in Florida. I was running that in the 996. Used less oil when I made the switch. As long as 997 is under warranty, sticking with the factory fills to be on the safe side.

I just unpacked mine. They put it in bags instead of a box. When I counted, there were 13 quarts
