Snowboarder54 were the PS2's 18" or 19"?
I use PS2 19" for the street and found them to be quite stable.
I ordered a set of 18' PS2's (Tirerack recommended 295/35) and the rears were about 1 inch taller then the 18 MPSC's(295/30). I sent them back.

They were 19's stock size. I don't have streets here where I live, only roads and very twisty roads at that. I do not recommend PS2's for the GT3. Maybe if you are driving down the freeway at 65 or driving around town, but for me they don't work. They are fine on the 997s, but that's a horse of a different color.

PS2's N rated are perfect on the street in 18s and 19s and although they can't offer the same levels of grip as a DOT tyres does in the corners in a track, I doubt that they would create an issue in the street.
As a matter of fact talking about hi speed highway stability like the OP did the PS2s are excellent and won't creat any issues as long as they are of the correct size and properly balanced.
Those of you that have issues with them, either have something wrong with your car's setup or you are simply asking too much from a street tyre.

I do enjoy them, less noise than the 888s and an excellent wet tyre. But all tyres are a compromise for sure, street tires on track and track tires on street don't work the ones in between are again well.. average in both.
Just wanted to point out that in my opinion the PS2s are not dangerous for normal street driving that may include autobahn only legal speeds, besides the PS2s are quite similar in compound with the first generation of Nspec Cups. Only in the 2RS the Ncups gained back their dry abilities and lost completely the less than average wet ones that the first N had.

Can't comment on 18s vs 19s as I don't have 18's.... But I find the PS2s to be ample for street use and they hold well in the corners IMO... Being new to car, I probably don't throw it as hard into the corners as the more experienced guys here... They are my street/ slightly wet track tyres... Cups for dry track at the moment... Stay home for very wet track...

PS2 is the stock tire for 996 GT3. 235 front 295 rear.
The work fine on the 996 and I see no reason why they wouldn't do well on any 997. It's a good tire for the street.
Where do you drive 130 mph? On the track or on the street? If you are on the track get more appropriate tires. If that's on the street anywhere but Germany I recommend keeping it under 100 mph.

Great tire, much better than the ps2 in terms of try grip. I have them on my
GT3 and like them, ive never tried running ps2's on this car but used them on my M3. I think the RE-11 is the best non R compound tire. But they dont have 18" sizing.

I ran 18" and 19" on my 997 GT3.
18" Hoosier and R888 were great for the track.
The 18" Hoosier was faster than the 19" Hoosier because they had a shorter height all around which gave better "gearing" advantage. Braking and handling were nearly identical.
