WTB grey 997.2 GT3 RS...
Hi All,
I got the green light from the wife, but with a low max price. So, looking for a low option grey... please pm if interested!
Thanks,
Peter

Well, if you want one that is reasonably optioned and already setup with roll bar, seat belts, clear wrap etc. Rogers' (ZBB00730) car is the way to go! I don't know why he got silly and decided to sell it, but get him while he is confused I'd say

Haven't tracked anything yet, but both wife and would like to... :-)
Reading some posts here, I get the feeling that people are overvaluing their cars.
A new car with MSRP of 135-140k,
- minus 10% discount for used private sale (vs new dealer),
- minus 15% minimum first year depreciation of car and warranty (more like 20%, but hey it is a special car!)
= 100-110k for a one year old car.
That seems reasonable to me, but I get the feeling that others think it unfair.
Are my numbers off?
Peter

Thanks for the feedback guys - I'll start looking at dealer inventory as well. Most are with PCCB and axle lift (both preferred)
Thanks again,
Peter

there are few RS trading in the wholesale/dealer network. all with asking price in the high 130's.

consider this...
...you may want to consider my 2010 RS, unique that it is white with black graphics and trim, silver wheels with black center caps, nicely optioned with the RSS rollbar in powder coated black with the Tequipment GT3 HANS 6 point harness. This car has NEVER been on a track. I have only driven it 600 miles. 3M clear on front and 3M black on the hood. Photos on this link:

MSRP $148+, plus the add-ons. Will discuss at $138,000. Thank you.

I had an 07 RS with PCCB's and got my '11 RS with regular steel brakes. PCCB's are more of a marketing gimmick and profit center for Porsche than anything else. The steel brakes are on par with the PCCB's (especially the new '11 bigger fronts) when it comes to performance, cheaper to replace and the "unsprung weight" difference, well I for sure can't tell the difference...driven a few Porsche's on the track over the years. Just my 2 cents.

but i know some real transaction numbers.
i have a chk on my desk now for 110 for my car. that's 20 back from msrp.
a friend of mine just sold his, also low miler 2000 miles, 20 back as well.
a third car also sold at 20 back.
all three were purchased by dealers for resale. so if a dealer would buy a car at 20 back, you would think they can sell it at 10 back of msrp?!?!
a very well optioned car will have a bigger discount. but if i dont think too many dealers will take a 20k hit on a new car. not sayhing impossible, but rare.
i am pretty sure rog wont take more than 20k hit on his either.

I thought the unsprung weight benefits are hard to beat. I recall that for every 1 pound saved in rotating mass equals about 10 pounds saved in static weight. And for every 120 pounds in static weight saved equals almost a gain of 17 BHP.
But then again if one doesn't track it then your right - one can't really spot the difference.
