Default Track insurance in MA?

For those of you in MA: is there a regular auto insurance carrier in the state that will cover DE events? My insurance agent doesn't know of any and I couldn't find such a company either. I know you can buy third-party per-event insurance, like PCA's HPDE insurance, but that gets costly after a few events.

Only alternative I've found to date but more expensive than HPDE last time I quoted.

Check and see if Westfield covers your state. They definitely provide DE coverage on their standard policy.

Unfortunately Westfield doesn't cover MA. MA is a very unfriendly place for auto insurers to do business, according to my agent. I also know about WSIB.

To follow up on this thread, I did find one MA insurance company that will cover the car in DE events. It's MetLife. I have it in writing and confirmed it in direct discussions with the company. I am switching over to them immediately in time for my next DE day.

John,

Is that Met Life doing it on an a la carte basis, or is it included in their normal policies? If the former, would you mind saying, or PM'ing approximately how much per day? Thx.

Jake951: Can you post up details? I trust MetLife wouldn't mind a little free marketing.

I guess the true test is whether and how easily they pay out if and when the time comes.

I just got a quote fro WSIB.

I thought I bite the bullit, but my quote went up from $6600.00 from when I asked a quote back in April to $6800.00 but now it includes a $13500.00 (10%) deductable instead of $6750.00 (5%).

So with any incident I'm already in it for $20+K instead of risking it with a regular insurance company.

Post details from Metlife when you can; Thanks.

Metlife insures in Florida......I just got a quote and it is less than what I am paying for Allstate

I too got a quote from WSIB ($2,500 for 5 events....$100 per additional, $80k value, $5,000 deductable), I want a one stop shop for insurance.

They did ask one question....if my car was an RS. WSIB charges much more for an RS over a standard GT3

If thsi is true I will buy insurance in the morning

The other problem I had with WSIB was they count an autocross as an event.....I enjoy them when I cannot afford track time
