Just 1 GT3 was sold in the month of July 2010?
That can't be right. Is it because regular GT3s became sold out from the initial allocations and none were available until the 2011 cars arrived, leaving only RS cars in dealer lots? Is that indicative of how the factory builds cars?

Thanks for the facts.
Looks like the excitement over 30+ listings on cars.com represents a couple of dealers with option-laden or marked-up cars.
As for the 1 car in July, I guess that was Larry Cable ... : )

Now that I think of it, all 4 dealers I've visited in my area have already received their 2011 RS, but have yet to receive a 2011 GT3 with the earliest arrival not until september.

Well. if dealers sold "punched" cars, they would not appear.
Rusnak Finally sold the Yellow GT3 that they had on the floor for 7 months or so for MSRP 140+k

I somehow feel that the Porsche production line is run to produce model year (MY) cars by batches instead of constantly through out the model year, especially for the more special versions -- it made a batch of GT3 late last year, and then a batch of GT3RS early this year, and such. Each batch will be digested through the sales pipeline for months.
There may be a few special order cars made here and there, yet in general it is run by batch for the MY.
If we time our purchase right, there will be healthy number of cars to select from the dealers. Otherwise, there will be none to find.
Like at very early month of this year I was trying to order a GT3RS, but there were dozens of GT3's at the dealers. So I got a GT3 with decent discount instead. As of today, there are quite some GT3RS at the dealers, yet almost no new GT3 to arrive.
I have a feeling that later this year a batch of MY2011 GT3's will arrive to the dealers (may be smaller number than the MY2010) and then few-to-none GT3RS will arrive. And then at early-to-mid 2011, a batch of 2011 GT3RS will show up at the dealer.
Just my thought, and hope we can time our purchase so to ease any frustration.
Regards,

I just received an email last Thursday (7.28) from Porsche stating my RS was just assigned a vin.

It's been six (6) months since I placed the order ....... just to get my P.T.S choice.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
Can anyone tell me the usual wait time to production once the VIN has been assigned ?
