Are you guys thinking of going with 19's over the usual 18's now? Just wonder what the handling difference will be compared to a set of 18's vs a set of 19's?

Confirmed by Guy Gamba at BigO. He anticipates shipping the fronts for the RS in approx two weeks. It is not N rated for those that care, none of the Trofeos are.

I am very happy with my 19's and just received my black anodized Forged Alloys USA 19" wheels for RS. Ditto on my Spyder, wouldn't dream of swapping that to 18"s.

My understanding is the .2 GT3 and RS suspension are tuned for 19".

Mooty and CarreraGT both have a lot of GT3 experience and have .2 RS's and might jump in and make a comment. I know CarreraGT just bought a second set of 19" wheels so I would guess he is sticking with 19's on his RS.

What is the experience that you guys have had with the tires in the wet. Is there any difference in performance vis a vis the Corsa systems? I need safety in the wet as it often rains to and from the track. Thanks for the input.

I think you would be hard pressed to beat the corsas in the wet with tyres with a tread pattern like these or the MPSC ... standing water is just a receipe for aquaplanning with that shoulder pattern IMHO

I can’t believe nobody has run them yet.
All I want is if they are better than the 888 and if you can drive them in the rain to get home. I would ditch the toyos which I like a lot if they perform same and are not so heavy or make terrible noise.

John, I believe Savyboy uses them on his BoxsterS...or someone posted about the Trofeo. For 19" there are very expensive but the 18" prices I've seen are not too bad but they do not have the sizes I need in 18" for my Carrera S.

I wasnt interested before so much until I found that they are so lighter than the 888s and so I am thinking to try them in 295 although I would prefer 315..

+1. Will be going to Trofeos once the channels are stocked up.

Tried my first set of Toyo 888s over two weekends and have serious doubts--can definitely feel the extra weight, and the road noise above 50mph is insane.

I also had problems with grip--they seem to be able to handle 1.4g's in most cases but anything above that they just let go completely.

There's hardly any difference IMO.
In terms of lap time, it doesnt make 18 much faster at all.
I m on 18 and the reason is because there are more tire choices than 19...
with ther former, i can opt for full slicks if needed.

Your Corsa System works fine in the wet up to certain speed. I still think it's the best all rounder if u dotn want to go through the hassle of having a set of dedicated track tires....

I spoke to the guys at GMG Racing about this. They tested the trofeo against the factory tire and the trefeo was quite about faster.

not sure about heat cycles.

Yeah mate, if my dedicated track wheel set up does not eventuate I will be shopping for a good all rounder as I intend on ripping my Corsa Sytems up over the three track sessions middle of next month....
