Default Zanzibar RS

I am currently in Los Angeles (on business) and I swung by the local dealer (on the way to the office). Apologies if a repost, but they have a zanzibar RS available. Fully loaded ($169,600), plus a $25k mark-up! Total price = $194,600. Yikes! Crappy BB pic below. Linky to website here: http://www.downtownporsche.com/new/P...beec2ee80f.htm

Unfortunately, they've used the "stock" White Gold ... a pity they didn't go with, well, just about anything else ... silver comes to mind.

Often, dealers are unrealistic about pricing, thinking (falsely) that they can cleanup on a car like this. In time they may wind up wholesaling it out which will not be profitable for them. They should attempt to give a good deal to potential buyers.

LOL

Color looks pretty good in person. But I don't like options, and pricing (mark-up) is out of control.

the car is pretty in person. the white gold decals works really good with Zanzibar as well as the color has gold tint to it. i like it because it reminds me one of the OE press Cup car.

i've been there (the dealer) many times. the sales team was knowledgeable & nice to talk to (and a sales person is a member of another forum). the management however, is somewhat harder to deal with. obviously being where they're located, they're fishing for somebody doesn't know the market well. they currently have another two 2011 RS in stock, while this Zanzibar is 2010. i don't know how they can still ask for 25k over.

i love the color. dislike few options on the car, such as silver wheel (would do white gold), XM radio (ugly roof bump), illum doorsills etc. this could well be the color if i decide to get it. frankly, i can still order a 2011 build to spec.
