that's pure stupidity. in a business point that doesn't make sense at all. funny thing is that i felt bad telling one of the sales guy i'm offered 3 RS build slots @ sticker while they think 25k over is the market. that was hard for him to believe me of course. i'm amazed how little they know in terms of real market, or they just pretending?

And that's the clock the dealers have to run down -- so long as the buyer is trading time for money, the likelihood of finding a buyer willing to pay $25K rather than wait three months is just a gamble. But for sure there are buyers willing to pay for instant gratification. Once there's no option to order, standing offers will be able to hold their premium (though I think $25K is impolite to say the least.)

I don't see the method in the madness, but many of the dealers are consistent in this approach of holding a car at a premium until the bitter end. And from what I've seen transpire, a given dealer with a single RS to sell is unlikely to throw it away -- even if at the end, they "trade" it with another dealer for one or two appealing cars. At present, it seems like anything except the Carrera is selling -- this is the inevitable consequence of protracted incentives to clear out the 2009 cars.

Curious colour choice. When zanibar red was a metallic paint option - 1999 through ~2003? - it was the least selected by quite a ways....

I always thought that Zanzibar was gorgeous on the 996 GT3 MK1.

On this 997.2 I would black the wheels and decals and I cover in Satin for a Stunning Uniquie Finish!
