Default GT2 RS Fender Bender

Notice anything different about the front fender?

Must be the CF option. And no ugly tan line to boot. Me want.

Looks much better than the 997.2 RS version.

funny they had to design a new bumper for it and they didn't bother to just mold the lip into it as well? looks funny with just the front portion stuck on.

I think that's the same 08 GT2 bumper with different spoiler lip, different side markers and the glued side lip.

There's no change to the basic fascia (bumper) - only to the lip design on the bottom. Hence incorporating the wheel opening lip into the fascia would require tooling new molds. Not going to happen unless they know they can gouge the customer for the added cost.

They can upcharge for the CF fender option.

Gross margin trumps all at PAG.

Keeping the front nose the same works for me...I think most who track the GT2.1 will be getting that front slitter, I can't wait to install it on my car!

As for gross margin, keeping some things the same opens up sales to more parts customers.

That's correct. It is exactly the same bumper. Just disassembled mine today to replace the splitter as the prior one got shaved by half under braking at the track.

That's from people that only see it vs GT3 on value basis, but in absolute terms the GT2, RS even better, trumps over the GT3 RS any day. It is such a much more entertaining / challenging car; both street and track. The 3 feels so slow and overgeared on a relative basis.
