Dumb question time: Are there much difference between different brands of links (dog bones, toe links, etc.)? RSS vs. Tarrett (ERP) vs. CROSS vs. GMG, etc.
Seems like everyone makes them....

I understand Tarrett and ERP are very reputable.
from what i can see GMG, Sharkwerks, etc, all make these parts too and look to be the same principal and build. They all are designed to do the same thing.
Tarrett really offer alot more items then the other manufactures i noticed.

Thanks John and Rad. So I guess that the .2 3 & RS would be better set up from the get go. Once again underscoring the old "get the newest you can afford".
... unless you get an older one and tweek it that is.

Im not sure what porsche could do to make the suspension any different from the 997.1 to 997.2 as far as factory settings?
what i have done has made the suspension really different then stock.
All my parts listed can be swapped onto a 997.2

I guess these mods will give more confidence on the track, hopefully yielding better track times in the process. How much time were are you thinking these mods will shave off on a track like BW?

All this stuff is direct replacement for 997.1 and 997.2 bodies. Both models have the same tub and suspension mounting points.

i havent used a clock, however with the bump steer set up my car i will be out driving the already aftermarket Bilstein shocks! If i was running Hoosiers id say i would require Motons 100%. This suspension upgrade is retarded.
It maximizes every bit of your tires for dear life.
consider the difference of lap times to that of comparing lap times of a bone stock 997.1RS to a bone stock 997.1 GT2.
there really is that much difference to be had in lap times, except it is made in the corners and not on the straights of course.
Mind you i have Toyo 18" R888 tires too.....
there is so much grip! soooo much! Go-kart feel.
The car does what you want it to on this set-up with these adjustable parts.
You can make mistakes and the grip is there to back you up.
People, you need to experience the feel of an unleashed 997! Not just track aligned stock suspension, im talking fully adjusted to this side of a Grand-am Cup car LOL!
I burned two tanks of fuel on monday on a tight and twisty track and my body is sore all over from fighting the stock seats from all the new found grip!

Well, not really.
Actually , my GT2 seats go in this week with Clubsport cage.
I also have a shiny new pair of OMP 997 CUP seats for targa NL!

Tom, what are your impressions of the Bilsteins after a month? My second set of front OEM shocks are starting to crap out (again! rattles all over uneven surfaces) and I'm seriously considering following your path...

If you plan on doing any serious suspension upgrades, aftermarket shock is necessary anyhow.
One thing i noticed was firmer ride, however the coil spring noise when under hard crank from a stand still is gone.
When ever parking the stock RS under hard crank of the steering wheel the coil spring would always bind or twist causing a spring related sound.
no more since bilstein install.

Tarett is not 'ERP' by the way. ERP is actually Cary Eisenlohr, a person - he produces best stuff one can get - rod ends, upper monoball mounts, etc. A lot of companies redistribute his parts.
