I love the idea of trying this to save some dough, but not at the expense of having a car that will ALWAYS be mileage limited. I'd rather wait until 25 years and then bring it over (at which point they will be much more expensive of course).
great info. Thanks. 2500 miles a year! I would never hit that number

Although certainly a RoW car, it was a LHD version and I'm shocked by the price that bought it. 98k Euros or $118,115 in today's dollars (+ unknown buyer's premium) if you don't want to follow the link. Although it was a higher mileage example, this seems like a potentially extraordinary deal.

The post COVID U.S. market is just in a huge bubble, and this just goes to show that.

That and we just have a lot more fan boys with money in our region with the same amount of cars.

Imo these cars will continue to go up here but I bet they either stop going up or decline for a bit when that 25 year mark hits and we are able to import.

Then again maybe not for the low mileage examples because Europeans tend to drive their cars vs treat them like trophies.

I've never tried to buy a GT2 because I love the NA of the GT3 and I've got a turbo S for the torque. But....that yellow GT2 makes me feel things.

Guys you are caught up in your USA centric bubble, in the ROW the 997GT2 has not received the hype, which it probably should have with it's relatively limited production, and this price for a LHD example registered in the UK is self evidently and unsurprisingly the market price. Including fees it works out about US$126K.
A RHD UK market car, ie one of 61 UK C16 models, with this mileage would probably fetch ~£135K or $162K

Whilst this thread is interesting you guys need to drive the cars it's what they're good at

Edited to add, this car's VIN shows it as #246, mine was 7 cars behind it at #239

Most ticketed color in America is gray. Go for loud and bright!

That car in the UK seams like an anomaly. It was an '09 and the mileage wasn't that high. A counter opinion on the market for Europe being lower than the US: the prices are pretty much the same. In Switzerland we have quite a few GT2s for sale at the moment from ranges of 245 to 320 USD.

For those still confused why overrevs matter, here is one of the cams from my 2009 GT2. It has begun to spin, but not enough to cause valve/piston contact and the engine runs fine. It will be repaired and pinned before going back in.

Can you share some details about your overrev report?

It still remains true that these cars routinely overshoot revs on gear shift, so real world data would be very useful
