I really like that Midnight Blue paint. Hoping to see a big result for that GT2 to show a healthy current market for our cars.

WOW! It's a Sport Chrono delete car too. The dash looks SO GOOD without the wart. That's quite uncommon to see on any GT2.

I would too but thinking the prior mods may ding it a bit.

Agree on the SC free dash. Mine has a nice smooth space and I love it

Midnight Blue looks amazing on these cars.

It may potentially be a BIG ding. I would be concerned. If the car had aftermarket turbos capable of 775hp, I believe that should have been paired with not only the larger IC’s, but also with larger injectors. I believe you would be maxing out the stock injectors beyond a reasonable margin of safety running such large turbos, yet there is no mention of aftermarket injectors ever having been installed. If im understanding the listing correctly, these turbos are still installed, but the DME has been reverted to a stock tune? If so, I don’t think that was a sound engineering decision, but maybe someone with more technical background can chime in on that. I would have the engine really checked out and get the stock turbos reinstalled, but finding legit GT2 stock turbos (they have their own unique part numbers) is highly unlikely.

I don't have any plans to sell my own GT2, but I do often wonder what the market would bring for it if I did a really high quality BaT sales effort with no reserve. As a dealer, I cannot help think about it...but I might not like the result either!

Steve, you are supposed to save it for me LOL! Such a funky market for these! Low miles + special color still means top dollar as collectors aren't that price sensitive and if they want a specific color, its not like they can source it somewhere else! Otherwise, its hit and miss (I have a buddy who is on the hunt for a solid driver, and he has alerts set up so I hear about all his endeavors!). It will be interesting to see how this one does despite the history. The mods wouldn't put me off if the price were right. They are mezgers after all!

Scott: Is your friend looking for a 997 GT2? If so, I know of a couple of pocket cars that may come up soon. One is a driver...the other is more collector.

You're right about that, but as the seller I'd have a pit in my stomach for 7-8 days while it ran. My driver quality car certainly wouldn't get top dollar by any means, but with the welded coolant lines and 'good' DME result (Range 4s only) I would be intrigued to see what it would go for. If I sold it, I'd buy a McLaren 720S and I don't hate myself enough to do that just yet. So, there is still time to enjoy my car!!

Will be interesting to see the BaT versus PCAR performance of each. Thanks for the link, that's the twin to my own car in the latest BaT auction!

i almost bought the midnight blue gt2, the seller (forgot what dealer) did not have much information on it or receipts. They actually advertised it as mild upgrades and didnt even know all that was on it. I had to pass as it was going to be hard to fish on getting all the proper documentations

This happens a fair bit in the MKIV Supra community too, where cars that were formerly heavily modified are brought back to stock in order to cash-in on the rises in value of stock examples. A couple things that work very hard against the midnight blue GT2 are the DME over-rev report and the fact that it's a nearly unique car, meaning people know of it or have paid attention to it over the years. It already seems obvious that the basalt black metallic GT2 will out-perform it at auction, whereas if all else were equal the midnight blue car should bring a significantly higher value due to mileage and color. It is a fascinating view of the current market to see those dissimilar cars running at the same time.
