Awesome Viper vs GT3 at The Nurburgring...fast
If any of you know the ring, this is one quick dual going on with some fairly close shaves.
It's the WHOLE ring area, the F1 track and the Nordschleife in one as it used to be. Enjoy

Epic dog fight. Amazing how the Cup RS even overtook in the end of the straight at about 9.15. Isn't the Viper in a different cat? Wow. The Cup RS driver was good.

What a lesson!
Astonishing. Both drivers were impressive. What's a bigger word than impressive? Magnificent.
The race craft of the 911 to keep the Viper at bay. The patience and tenacity of the Viper to stay within (pun) striking distance. The 911 using traffic, the Viper keeping the tires in one piece. Talk about thrust and parry. Amazing. Amazingly amazing.
As for the 911 taking the Viper at the end of the straight, I have two theories: first, the Viper knew the limitations of the brakes at warp speed; second, the Viper knew that if the 911 was in front, he could be certain to make the pass and have the lead where he did. Of course, the Viper might have just had a bobble or a mistake or something we didn't see (like the closing speed on traffic.) Brilliant racing.

I think I need a cold shower.
Good stuff, and the traffic... wow
I know you're not supposed to focus on it, but I can imagine constantly having a mirror-full of that green monster.

Classic braking vs. hp battle indeed -- great find! The P-car driver was certainly wily in traffic, very effectively using the
slower traffic as picks at opportune moments throughout the lap. Also highlights the narrowness the public Nürburgring
loop compared to the GP circuit, making overtaking a challenging proposition in cars/driver that at all matched (although
I would certainly give the edge to the Porsche driver in this one). Regarding the pass on the main straight at the end of
the lap, I suspect that the slipstream combined with the smaller frontal aero profile of the Porsche relative to the wider
Viper contributed to that move.

I raced one of those Vipers here in the UK in 2007, good race car but pretty heavy and big on the 'ring. I'd love to race one there... Nice battle but the Viper is so much quicker that the 911 was really holding him up. I'd have given him a little love tap just to remind him that I wanted through...

Year 1, but on the LONG straight, the Viper did not out pull the little P car!
