Went yesterday to a 1 mile top speed event at the Miami Collier-Cobb airport, organized by Exotics Rally. Many nice cars, including an orange TT UGR Gallardo superleggera and a yellow TT Ford GT. It was about 91 degree weather throughout the whole day, and there were some strong winds. Regardless, it was an amazing day. I'm very impressed with the results. Our cars ran on stock tires, 93 gas, and the road surface was the same as any road, not a prep'ed track. Everyone was complementing on the sound of the GT3 with the Akrapovic race system ![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)
We took the 2010 GT3 (Akrapovic race system/BMC air filter/Preliminary Evoms software), a 2009 LP-560 (Stock) and a Gallardo Superleggera (Stock). We are schedule to do 30-40 dyno pulls on the GT3 on Saturday, in order to truly customize the Evoms tune.

1/4 mile in 11.503s @ 115.207 mph
1 mile in 30.278s @ 161.381 mph
Vid and slip to be added later.

What did that Turbo Lambo and Ford GT clock?
I remember seeing a Turbo Ford GT at a Mile Event that was ran in Russia a while ago. The video showed the Ford letting the Other car, because they were running twos side by side, get a car length or two on it and then the Ford just floored it; taking the victory away from the other car at the end! The Ford was making around a Thousand BHP at the crank; as I'm almost certain the one at the event the other day where you were at was too, and maybe even that Lambo. I mean really, if you are going to strap Turbos on to those cars you might as well dial the boost up to over One (1) Bar and let`er rip eh?

The trap speeds for the 1/4 mile and 1 mile look fine. The ET for the 1/4 mile is definitely off by 0.5 secs, affects the standing mile time as well.
The LP560/4 should run around 11.5 with those trap speeds, and the 2010 GT3 around 11.8. The Superleggeras don't break under 12s (stock), they are actually slow compared to a 997 GT3 (2007) in acceleration, despite of the 520Hp (lots of drivetrain loses in the old Gallardo).
It is good to see a 435 Hp 2010 GT3 beat a 520Hp Supperleggera in acceleration.

The superleggera is not completely stock, but I don't remember exactly what it had. It was nothing out of the ordinary; engine software, intake filters, modified stock exhaust.
I beat mike@awd evoms flashed 997tt (516whp/536wtq sae on a DJ) last night from first gear, 30-170mph run by 1 car length. From second, 60-170mph, he got me by 1 car lenght). Even in both runs until 140mph+ or so. Gearing and no lag plays a huge part.

A car that traps 118mph in the 1/4 mile cannot run 11.3 secs, unless there is sub 1.4 60ft times (not possible unless you use drag slicks and AWD).
The three cars show unrealistic ET to the 1/4 mile, but consistent speeds at the 1/4 mile. This is typical when a simple rather than double timing beacon is used at the start, and the sole beacon doesn't start timing until the sensor is set off (back end of car setting them off).
At the 1/4 mile mark and 1 mile mark, you set double beacons, and that's how speed at those points is determined.
As much grip as there is at an airport (I run on one quite often), there is a lot more grip at a drag way. If you don't believe this, take your GT3 to a local drag way, and do a couple of runs there, you will notice that your trap speeds will be similar to what you ran at the airport, but your ET will be a lot slower (but at least realistic).

So ,aren't stock 997.2 GT3s doing 1/4 in 11.8s and stock LP-560s 1/4 in 11.2s.(FastestLaps.com/ and every other test) Those are the stock results used everywhere for those cars. I don't know how those stock time were obtained, launched or not. And again, my car is not stock.
How was I dead even with a Evoms flashed 997.1 turbo 516whp/536wtq from a roll to 150mph?
From first gear(30mph), I got him by 1 car length at 170mph. From second, he got me by 1 car length at 170. 2 separate runs. He couldn't believe the 1/4 mile time either, until we ran each other last night.... before we ran each other, he said the same comment about the dragstrip. I wouldn't take this car to a dragstrip, though; only road courses![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
When all the results are posted on their website, I'll paste them here. There was a black Viper (which just rolled from the line, did not launch), and got a 1/4 ET of 11.4. The speed/time sensors much have read wrong only in my runs....![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
In different runs, I had 11.3-11.7 ET times depending how I came off the line...

I concur with NJ, something is off with that ET.
In my racecar, at an NHRA certified track at sea level, I ran a 12.0 @ 120mph. The 60ft time was 1.7sec and that's with an AWD car. To get an 11.3 @ 118, you'd need to run a 1.4sec 60ft time or be using a sequential gearbox with flat-foot shifts; the effects of 60ft times are amplified later in the run so a 0.4sec gain early on translates to more at the end of the 1/4.
Regardless, 118mph in a street car is fantastic and the relative performance against the other super exotics is commendable and a real achievement for Porsche, your tuner and your driving.
