Default 0-400 launch technique

Hi, I'm going to participate a local 1/4 mile race, can anyone here help to specify what is the correct and best way to launch the car, without damaging the clutch?

I'm kind of new to stick car and would like to seek some help here.

thanks

If you're worried about the clutch - don't drag race it.

If you want to get a good launch in, bring up the revs to about 4000 and drop the clutch on the light. You'll probably want to experiment with traction off and controlling the throttle.

Just so you know, drag racing is a technique that's not nice on cars transmissions, engines, etc. and if you've never done it, you're probably not going to impress anyone while risking damage to the car. It might be more fun to watch.

Wrong car for this type of activity. But then again, its your car, your transmission, your GT3 engine.

What he said. Better find a isolated place to practice. Oh is just saw where you live so never mind. TC on would be a good thing for you. It will give you a better launch with less tire spin. I never drag but I do launch @ 4K at autocross

Bring spare axles and a spare transmission, or bring the M3.

M3, he should have got his evo back for that. i see this ending badly with burnt toast clutch smell or worse looping the car into something hard. hopefully its actually at a strip and not down at the docs. might end up in the ocean. you have an F1 track right there in town! go there instead!!!

With a reduction of 200 lbs, a quarter tank of 91 octane gas and a GMG center exhaust the car will turn an 11.09 second quarter mile after 5 runs - at a sanctioned meet.

Save the wear and tear on your machine and quote the numbers!

Is this done with traction control on or off? Seems that with it off, you might get a lot
of tire spin.

Like everyone say, if you are new to stick shift in your GT3, it is not going to make you a hero at the drag strip (hopefully it is a legal and safe event.)

You might be better-off trading your GT3 with a 997.2 Turbo with the PDK transmission. With the Sport Chrono overboost and the Launch Control, you might make a nice 1/4 mile run.

Still, some kid might bring a 10-second Civic, and ruin your day

Regards,
