I have the Sharkwerks Laguna pipes but am blowing nearly 104db at WOT with all three mufflers. Has anybody added something like Supertrapps to these? If so, wondering what the results were.

I was able to run 92db days at Laguna with OEM exhaust and locked out the flapper from opening to bypass the side-mufflers. It felt lethargic going up the hill, but no black flags!

What event? Looking at the LS calendar, the only thing that pops out at me is the Rennsport Reunion. I'm always down to run at LS unrestricted!

I was (just) able to pass 92db with a Sharkwerks bypass and the 3sec mod, but only JUST... I think I was 96+ w/o.

What us the 3sec mod? Would love to keep bypass in place.

I have a 90 db day coming up next month and wondering if I'd be able to pass with this or maybe I need to add direction pipes also? I have OEM stock exhaust. Sounds like this will pass the 92 db limit, but not 90 db? I don't see the pipes listed on Sharkwerks, is there another source?

Depending on how overcast it is, wind direction, and where you put the car on track (far track left as you pass sound) you might be able to pass with this "bypass" option.

I passed in my old 997.2 GT3 RS with stock exhaust doing this...but I asked for a sound check a few times and it was really close to 90

If you can, having a set of directional pipes is preferred

My 7.2 with s/w bypass registered 92db with the "mod" in place, not sure about the OEM...

Thanks guys! I decided to fabricate a add on exhaust, I figured it's the only way to be within limits and I can go WOT up the hill on any day in the future.

I think S/W may have stopped making those tailpipes ...

Two questions on this fantastic mod:

1. Is heat build-up a problem on track with the valves in quiet mode?

2. Has anyone tried this mod with a BBI Autosports center muffler on a 7.1 GT3? Read the posts on the mod working with the SW bypass, but I think the BBI bypass may be louder due to the slightly flared tail pipes.

Thanks
Matty
