so its the same affect as bypassing this switch and connecting to two hoses??

Dang that would have been even easier

Same set up, SW center bypass had no problems, it did feel down on power though

Glad to hear that this mod has worked with the SharkWerks bypass. Has anyone tried this with the GMG GT3 center exhaust? I'm wondering if it will bring the GMG exhaust down to 90db.

Also wondering about the RSS X-pipe. I really don't want to bother putting my stock pipe back on, but plan to do just that so there will be no guessing whether I will pass or not.

996 GT3 passes at wot, 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 and RS do not pass sound unless short shift 'n lift, or perform the Mikymu intervention.

This does cause a small but discernible loss of torque, so a switch that goes from "quiet to "automatic" rather than to "loud" will leave the system functioning "normally" (with the peculiar sound of the exhaust opening up at 4000 rpm) and that helps with the low end of the torque curve, which I find handy for Laguna.

Will be doing the same mikymu intervention on my Z06 this weekend

BTW, My Cup car also passed 92 db at Laguna Seca with Akrapovic exhaust. Not an easy task. I had to install street GT3 side muffler brackets to support the two side mufflers then rig up the street GT3 vacuum solenoid to make the muffler valve work. I blast through T5 at over 7K RPM and the only black flag was for the poor soul behind me that could not figure out why his street GT3 could not pass sound

Tapping into vacuum line behind intake in the Cup

mikymu Laguna Seca switch for the Cup

Anyone know if .2 GT3RS with Sharkwerk bypass with this valve closed setup will pass sound at LS?

I had TC Design wired a switch along with a turndown pipe. Eager to test it out this Sunday.

You'll want the "turnip" (turn up) pipes from Sharkwerks -- you can get those through Tony at TC Design. The switch will suffice, just note that it will cost low-end torque when in "quiet" mode.

Thank you Larry. Getting settled in CA (finally back!) and looking forward to meeting some of the west coast Rennlisters and running some of the CA tracks. Beautiful car, BTW.
