Since this thread is revived:

These guys are amazing I bought a VPH900 and they honored their RL discount even after it had expired. (Thanks Mike for the tip )

Also their service is excellent! after some problems I had with the first battery (it didn't crank the engine as strong as I would like it) they did change it under warranty and also gave me for free the stronger more expensive model of the line VPR-P6 which works great.

Now if only all companies we deal with worked this way we would all be in a better place.

Yes, it is working well w/o ANY issue. I now can use the battery to pump up air in all 4 tires w/o it dying. I can also let my car sit for 3 weeks and starts right up ... amazing

Excellent John and glad to hear you were well taken care of. I will be stripping my M3 and make it a track star and will likely get a Voltphreaks battery for this project

Cheers

Did someone develop a clip/retainer for this battery?

Don't think so but it's an easy DIY and can be done with several ways. The battery is small and light so you have room to work there and you don't need any heavy duty brackets.

For example I used a plastic top bracket. and two hooked studs with butterfly openings.

Yes, clips are an easy DIY as demonstrated by 911slow. You can also use the Rennline battery holder - I think it should fit.

I found someone who will custom make me Lithium type batteries to any spec CCA's for a chunk less than 1300! Plus they weigh 4.5lbs or less! I've ordered one one to try out that will be here in a few weeks, and will keep posted!

Make sure they will have electronic to prevent over charge related explosion or fire

No worries, this will all be taken care of. Testing one in a Cup Car for the next few months to ensure reliability

I see that the retail price on the VPH750 battery has been lowered to $999. Be interesting to see if VP will offer a discount for a group buy. Would be very tempting !

This is becoming a more attractive mod.

I think they've done well here in the past, whatever the price is today, that's their offer to the market, so it's good that prices have come down (and good they have a viable business to stay in business) but any group buy would expect some sort of incentive.

I'd suggest adding the necessary lightweight tie-down bracket, maybe an isolator ground terminal and an appropriate tender to keep the battery healthy -- these things are all necessary anyway, so the collective up-sell is a win-win.

I own a version of this in my KTM bike - niiiiiiiiiiice unit. When you flood the bike after a drop, etc - the cranking power is unsurpassed....in a bike here however. FWIW. The thing is unbeleivably light.

I'd be interested in a group-buy if I could participate by buying a battery for a Ducati 996R and an Aprilia RXV550.
