PJ....send me an email or PM so I can keep you up to date on the cars I get offered. I probably get offered 3-4 RS's per week (some are the usual suspects, some are not....most are overpriced).

In my humble (but expert) opinion, the 9500 mile car for $95k was underpriced, unless there was a story or it was in not-excellent shape.
You have an advantage in that you are ok with a car with some miles....that will save you $10k. Honestly though....if you're tracking the car, screw resale. Buy a non-pccb car and put Cup brakes on it. All the guys I know with PCCBs that are tracking do that anyway.

PLUS....what is the point of having better resale if you have to pay MORE in the first place? You can save $10k by getting a steel brake car, and you will lose $10k when you go to sell it.....it all comes out in the wash.

Yes, 997.1 GT3RS is eligible for Porsche CPO program. That is how I acquired my 2007 GT3RS

PJ,

Based on what I consider market value for a clean 07 RS ($90k for a 10k miles car no-PCCB, $99k for a low miles car and PCCB), I would say that this RS is priced under the market:

$90k for a 2007 RS around 10k miles and no-PCCB + $5k for PCCB + $2k for the rollbar + $3k for the clear bra + $1k for Navi + $1k for full leather + $4k for CPO. $106k would be the fair price.

PCCB on the used GT3 increase appeal, but they don't increase resale by more than $5k. Get the car with PCCB, and swap rotors to iron for track use (you get the bigger 380mm front rotor and the car needs it).

It takes around $6k-$8k to fully wrap a GT3 with Venture Shield, but that's a $3k used car value.

The OEM rollbar takes painting, installation and the bar itself, an used value of $2k.

The RS with full leather looks a lot better, doors with alcantara finish, the upper and lower dashboard on leather and the stitching.

It costs $4k to get CPO for a GT3 RS, but you get 2 extra years of warranty up to 100,000 miles. Worth every penny in my opinion. (I think it is worth a $5k/year due to the RMS issues)

The 2010 GT3 and 2010 GT3 RS naturally push the 07/08 prices down. Used 2010 GT3 are hitting the market and not moving, as sellers want to move them close to MSRP, when there are many sitting in dealer's inventories at a discount. I think it is difficult to move an used 2010 GT3 over $109k.

Between the 2007 RS and 2010 GT3, I prefer the RS, it looks so much better despite of having lower performance. Now a 2010 RS on the right color, that's another level.

agreed -- I think you are spot on...
I want a white one with PCCB at your pricing or a green one...

I've been looking at all RS-es the last 2 years and I also agree that NJ-GT is spot on with pricing!

Having said that, I guess that prices on 07-08 RS's should stay steady for maybe 3-6 months.

I'm no car broker, but I've noticed that sometimes after a new model comes out at higher prices the best of the model before stop going down for a little while because the "new model is coming" was already priced in.
They will continue to slide when the new model starts decreasing in value with the first slightly used ones coming available after maybe 3-6 months. With the new RS that might take a bit longer?

I recentley purchased the 08 Green RS from Boardwalk in TX. It has PCCB, full leather, factory cage, clear bra and Porsche CPO. The only other green car was available at Sloan Cars and he was not willing to move much on price. Based the on threads here I probably paid a bit too much but I did only want a green car. I traded the car for an 07 GT3 . Good luck.

Did you get a good deal on your trade-in?

reason I ask is that I am looking at a '10 GT3 and the dealers are being pretty mean with the trade-in's ...

Remember this people:

Anyone that says the value of a used car is lower than market expectations is eventually proved very correct.

Very true.
Porsches lose value for about 25 years; after 25 years or so, the prices eventually start to go back up.
