Hi,

The options you choose is 99% exactly what I would choose for my self if I buy a White GT3.
The only things that might be different for me is
I will not choose:
Guards Red instrument dials Exclusive
instead,
I prefer The Standard GT3 Instrument Dial.

well maybe for the exterior color I would choose GT Silver,
but other than that, we have the same exact preference for all the options

Congratulations,
and looking forward to the pictures of your car,
once you took delivery of it.
Especially the pictures of the Deviated Stitching.
It is going to be an amazing car.

1. You cannot have your steering wheel in anything but standard stitching from the factory.

2. If you have a right hand drive car you cannot have the 90litre fuel tank or the aluminium foot rest.

3. You can have the handbrake, gear gaiter and gear stick stitched in deviated stitching. Also I wanted the rear console compartment lid in leather, stitched and Porsche crest embossed on it.

Use a customizing CT-Option called CXX. Only the Porsche dealer can order this option. This is, why you will not find it at the internet car configurator. The Porsche dealer should order "DAW with leather black and red stitching" The dealer has to ask for the price at his importer.

Rear Centre Console Lid with Porsche Crest embossed in leather: This part will be also available by CXX option. The dealer should order "XPT in leather black with guards red stitching". The dealer has to ask for the price at his importer.

- The rear GT3 badge on the boot: There is an option available, called CGV (Rear Porsche designation painted). By clicking on the Text of this option there will open a comment field, where your Porsche dealer can type in "guards red" so that you can order it in red.

Roll Cage in White or Red: Here we need again the Option CXX. Your Porsche dealer should type in "Roll Cage in White" or "Roll Cage in Red". The dealer has to ask for the price at his importer.

- Sport Bucket Seat in Leather: Due to the Clubsport package, the sport bucket seats are not available in leather. The Clubsport package is FIA certified and we are not allowed to demount this package into several parts.

This all became knowledge AFTER I emailed Stuttgart direct last Friday!

They are now putting this on my order but no roll cage as I want leather/alcantara sport bucket seats.

Hard work but I got there

Congratulations! It is a very frustrating experience, indeed. With all of the limitations, conflicts and errors, I have been pulling my hair out. Porsche builds great cars but their ordering system is absolute ****. At least you have access to CXX... here, they decide for us. We are expected to accept their choices, and then to pay up and **** off.

Buttons, your spec sounds excellent.

I've also had a similar experience when ordering my RS.

Thankfully, the sales guy is switched on and we've gotten to the end result without too much annoyance; however, doing anything individual isn't as easy as it should be.

I was going to go for deviating stitching but as Porsche could/would not supply black belts and harnesses, I've dropped it as I don't think the red would look right with my exterior colour (PTS). A shame as the deviating stitching can look very very nice.

I've never heard of CXX before. Learn something new everyday. Do two codes have to be added for each item? Like

CXX + DAW
CXX + XPT
CXX + CGV
and so on?

What's the code for the painted rear rollcage by the way?
Are you having Porsche crest embossed on head restraints as well? That would make it 3 (too many).

Painted wheels (non-RS) - Are you aware that they will not be fully painted in colour? Search for pics and you'll see what I mean.

Yes that's correct for the codes

That was the Stuttgart email straight cut and pasted so I haven't asked them for any more detail as I can't have it with leather/alcantara sport seat only the nomex so I might fit an aftermarket roll cage.

Seats are having the crest as well, 3 in total.

Yes, I've seen the factory painted wheel, it's just the spokes. The rim and barrel are standard silver.

Be glad to get a date now and get my 997.1 sold. I'll be counting down days til arrival!

What colour is your PTS?

Thanks JAMS,

What do you mean "they decide for" you. Do have a limited choice?

Well, there are many examples but case in point: you want deviated stitching throughout, (on an RS)? As you know, that excludes the shifter and brake lever (unless you order an exclusive version) but there is no way to get the door handle stitching deviated. They just will not do it. Same with black wheels... here in the U.S. you can have red, gold, or silver but not black; no matter what. Maybe you would like the gear lever trim to match your PTS exterior? That's a conflict... Don't get me started!

OK I see, so frustrating. But I think you have even less options available to you as it's an RS, mine's a normal '3. And it seems they are not willing to personalise the RS so much, just be lucky you're getting one sort of thing.

Just as a matter of interest have you personally tried emailing Porsche's personalisation dept yourself?

Here is a typical response:

"Unfortunately - as we have explained before - there
are some restrictions for the US market, that prevent
us from offering some options that might be available
in other markets (incl. black wheels) right now.

So again, at this point there is no option for black
wheels on a 911 GT3 RS for the US market.

We are trying to make more options available, but do
neither have an approval yet nor a necessary system
adaptation.

We will keep you and your dealer updated."
