Locked Date vs Prod Date
Hey All:
Just curious when people are getting locked down on their orders and what production date you have. Trying to get a sense of when Porsche is locking down orders. Thanks.
I have April production and have not been locked down yet. Production date at one point was moved up to Feb but I made a change and that bumped it back to April.

Probably varies in each market. I have a mid Jan build date, order was locked down mid November. For our market, they lock orders 2 months prior to production and delivery generally 2 months after production...

My RS "locked" and went PROD on Dec 14. My (presumptive) build is Feb 8 but I expect to have an much firmer date/time after Jan 1 and am anticipating it to be sooner than Feb 8. Given that the factory is closed for two weeks right now, I think MJones 30 days number is otherwise a good rule of thumb on when to expect a lock (for USA).
As luck would have it my LiON battery spec was accepted by the order system only 5 days before it locked

You have to lock your order in a month to a month and a half prior to built date. Normally they want the final order in the beginning of the month prior to the month of build so they can get the parts in queue.
Please note that the actual production date is not "locked." It can move up or down depending on what is going on in the production line. My build date moved back twice as we tracked the order over time.
