that is an interesting thought, however you would probably also need a decklid too in order to get the full effect ...

Also note that the intake alone is not the only mod to gain that 15bhp ... there
is also the exhaust and as I recall the DME too

Well... like another said, it would take than merely an intake. Besides, the RS is a hell of a lot more than just 15 HP.

Another item to consider: The 3rd brake light on 997.2 RS is integrated into the rear decklid, unlike the current RS or 997.2 GT3.

What do you mean Bakersfield won't be selling?

I had a run in with them a few weeks back before I got called to Lithuania on business. Let's just say I wasn't treated very well. They ignored me for a bit and then someone from the Audi showroom didn't like me too much either.

On the other hand I've had other folks come forward to tell me Bakersfield is a great dealership; Peter Zimmerman comes to mind.

Not that I'm in the market for an RS, 2010 Turbo, I will give them another chance when I do get back to Bako from Lithuania.

The shorter gearing is far more important than 15 HP, which is only going to be noticeable at the very high end. That 15 HP isn't helping (much) to make the car .2 secs faster to 60. The gearing is doing that.

I bought my car at manhattan motorcars for sticker. they got 3 in their initial allocation and all are spoken for. Any dealer that buys a car from another dealer will not sell it below MSRP because they are paying a small premium to get another dealers allocation. That being said, many westchester and rockland dealers have called me asking if I wanted a GT3 based on the fact that months ago I called around looking for a deal on one of the first allocated cars. So I think even in the NY area you can get 1-2k off if you look around.

I think it's more than that. The RS has a higher compression ratio than the GT3 (12.1 vs 12.0) and it makes peak power 300 rpm higher (7,900). This suggests some internal differences.

Alfie,

No No No Just because you sucked me in for a Black 2005 996GT3 by posting on Rennlist doesn't mean it will work again. I must resist.

The Fancy GT2 will have to hold me over, unless you are trading straight up.

McKenna's are heavily-optioned ($$$$) cars with a $10K dealer markup.
