the biggest problem I've seen on the pre-specced cars is the overly lame amount of useless paint or electronic gizmos (center console/ trim strips painted for 3k, stereo, footwell lighting, etc) it's like a bad waiter trying to upsell you side dishes at a restaurant.

really I suppose ... unless you want to track the car!
I'd want PCCBs, DEM, *maybe* the l/w headlamps, and given the $3,490 price
tag on the axle lift system I think I might skip that as $3.4k buys a number of
front spoiler lip replacements!
The rest would be some minor fru-fru stuff ... sound pkg etc ...

No seats + No mounts = Difficult sale
PCCBs are 50/50, as we've all seen in debates. Just depends who walks through the door on a given day.
Blinging-out the interior is a low-return strategy on GT3's - way to personalized for a pre-spec'd car IMHO.

well I think no seats/no mounts is an issue for just about every GT3 owner/buyer on this list because so many of us track theses cars ... question is, what %age of the total GT3 ownership in the USA is acccounted for here?
I think for someone walking off the street with a pocket full of money and the desire to buy a cool 911
the sports buckets might be a turn off and the DEM is a "what's that for?" item?
agreed PCCB is a 50/50 thing, I personally have them on my .1 and would get them again ... YMMV,
I think again for those that are not GT3 cogniscenti PCCB would also potentially be a negative due
to the cost/benefit ...
willing to bet most people buy the PCCB because of the yellow calipers!

actually I'm willing to bet that the yellow and red calipers also look sh*tty with the "gold" wheels on the new RS too!

I disagree (but then again I did order quite a few extras). The point is to make it in such a way as it (a)pleases the eye and (b)increases creature comfort
We all want to be in the commandos, top models, billionaires and drive stripped out race cars like Schumacher but the macho part is usually balanced by life's imperative.
I for one want to be able to be able to link my mobile to my car, makes life much easier. Same for using satnav when you live in London as I do (even going to the countryside since I tend not to know the areas well).
Finally I think the P interiors are drab, and like a splash of colour well placed. In my 996C4S I had a silver console with the SatNav centre in silver rather than the outside portion, added nothing to value of course but the dealer told me this was the best combination car he had sold. On my GT3 I ordered red console and red seat belt pillars, with the CS package -black cage, red harness but no fire extinguisher (takes too much leg room)- set against black leather + exterior this will liven up the interior as well.
Horses for courses, I ended up with an additional 20% worth of options, not a nice feeling clearly but my dream.

CF bits and pieces, speed yellow belts etc ... so I like my bling also ...
but I think that is very personal, one man's instrument dials in guards red and
a ton of deviated stitching is another man's waste of money ...
that is why for a car like this, it should be built to spec ...
for pre-spec "on the showroom floor" cars I think it's a bit of a mistake to
bling them out ... hence the minimal (might appeal to rennlisters) spec
above ...

1. no messing with pads and rotors
2. no rusty, blued, grooved, cracked rotors
3. no risk of fade or boil failure at 130 mph into a hairpin
4. fun on first GT3, lamented not ordering for the 2nd GT3
5. $8K on top of $132K is a willing indulgence (isn't the whole car?)
6. I buy into the flywheel and unsprung weight advantages (if only just barely)

My PCCB rationalization list:
1. no messing with pads and rotors
2. no rusty, blued, grooved, cracked rotors
3. no risk of fade or boil failure at 130 mph into a hairpin
4. fun on first GT3, lamented not ordering for the 2nd GT3

put them on a future car too ...
I wonder if on the .2 if the steel rotors are interchangable with the PCCB
calipers ... they weren't on the .1 but I have a "suspicion" that they may
be on the .2 ...
