The ceramics are starting to look like a bargain.

Is that for the front pair or for each corner?

It is interesting that Porsche wrote that the European SuperCup cars made it through the entire season on one set of rotors. What you that equate to for any of us?

That is pretty pricey - is that far more than the last version?

I'd probably just replace them with aftermarket 2 piece rotors like girodisc,PF etc and thereafter only wear the cost of replacing friction rings... They'de probably be more durable also...

Given ceramics last longer, bite better, inspire greater confidence and are lighter (for you fast guys) then the gap is narrowing, and as a consequence the premium is diminishing.

E.G. If the ceramics last 4 times longer than "iron' then they are only (approx) 2 times more expensive with their added benefits. YMMV!

Cost is probably directly related to the cast iron outer/aluminum center to reduce weight. I also wonder how well they will hold up in a track situation with the different coefficient of expansion between aluminum and cast iron.

The Alu and Iron sections are only attached at radial points - the thermal issue is nothing to worry about (racing brakes have been done this way for decades, as I'm sure you know from your signature).

Might be a lack of understanding on my part, but I read that the center vanes are aluminum bonded to the cast iron friction surface. That is new to me vs aluminum hats/iron rotors.

One of the supercup drivers I was chatting to elsewhere said this too (well, he used two sets but one needed replacing because of 'contact' issues with solid objects...)

If you think of it not as spending $$$ on PCCBs but Porsche giving you a 60% discount on the _real_ cost it makes ticking the box a whole lot easier...
