Dealer called me an hour ago. He will have two 2010 GT-3's in tomorrow. A heavily specced black $133K and a medium specced white, $121K. Can't wait to see them.
My dilemma: I ordered a minimally specced Basalt Black car for $118K. He want's to know if I want to pop for either of the new cars. The black has just too much stuff that I would never order on my own. Just can't see spending that much more money on things I could care less about.
The white car, white was my first color choice, but my wife does'nt like it. We both loved my Basalt Black C2S but I'm not adverse to change. I can probably talk her into white though. It is a popular (too popular?) color.
I told the dealer to sell me the white car for the same as my ordered car and I'd consider it. He hemmed and hawed but I know he will move some.
My concern is over whether or not new/launch cars will have problems. I know Team Drug Money rode his hard without issue but I would appreciate your opinion. Do I wait for my October build or buy now if the dealer will deal.
Thanks.

The dealer is salivating to move a unit without a customer...
You are drooling for a new GT3.
Wait for the car that you ordered optioned as you wanted.
How did you option your car?
How are the dealers cars optioned?

Personally, I'd wait for the car ordered exactly as I wanted it. But, if you decide the price and color works on one of these cars for you then I wouldn't worry about problems. The GT3 is not a clean-sheet car; it's not even a move from 996 to 997 variant, hence typical start-up production issues were sorted long ago.

If this is going to be your dream car, then spec it EXACTLY the way you want it and be patient. If you are going to just replace this car in a few years, then go for instant satisfaction.
This is not like choosing a female. Your current situation is that you CAN interchange parts and get it to be the way you want it!

If an early car shouldn't expect to have problems then it's mainly a color issue since I didn't specc a lot of options on my order. The white car at the dealer only has a few more options, $3K worth, that includes leather interior and bluetooth. I'll talk to the dealer in any event. The white is good looking.
Thanks!

If there are no options missing and the dealer takes the same price, you get leather ++ for free and the color you actually wanted to begin with, seems the prefect excuse not to wait and tell the wife it is white after all.
White is the best color IMO..
