[QUOTE=dougrhea@telusplanet.net;6703327]One question: What "tools" come with the new GT3 for the CL wheels?/QUOTE]

Almost forgot, here is what you get. Notice that the CL device is tucked away in the upper left of the front trunk. You can see I pulled it out slightly from its hiding place.

I have got to say that the front lip is pretty bad ****.

Her is the new dash. I think the radio and climate controls are different from MKI GT3, but not sure.

Forgot to mention this (and am sure there are about 100 other things like that) but I will be the first to admit when I originally saw the photos of the MKII rear wing, I was not impressed. However, now that I have lived with it I absolutely love it. I like the looks, and who can argue with the downforce it creates.

Now the bummer of it is that it certainly obstructs your view out the rear window. I am not sure what other wings are like in this reguard. I bet that the more donwnforce it creates, the less your view is out the rear. Choose your battle...

Hey TDM, how does the front lip cope with scraping? Is it more/less prone than the 997.1? Is front axle lift worthwhile?

The standard cd unit that now comes with the gt3 certainly looks heaps better than the previous car...

So there is no torque multiplier supplied to use with the CL socket???

Hey,

I am pretty sure that scrapping will be slightly worse for MKII, but not 100% sure. As you can see that lip sure does stick out. I have had multiple scrapes so far, oh well.

You only get the CL adapter, no torque miltiplier. I asked the Euro Delivery guy at Stuttgart about that and he did not know any details. I am waiting to hear back form him. Will post if I find out.

Thanks heaps TDM! Looking forward to your continued posts. I so can't wait to spec and receive mine now... If only the local P folk would get their butts into gear... Take care out there...

Keep-em coming!

So if you need to change a wheel could you? Or is the torque multiplier a must??

They need to be tightened to 500Nm - I think you would struggle to do that by hand without the correct tools.

Hey TDM, I like the non-full leather and no sat-nav. Your car looks fantastic.

LOL, I have yet to read an article stating that a sat/nav improves lap times. The money I saved on the leather options can now go towards more track fees! Thanks Rocket!

WOW! WOW! WOW!

What a great write up!!

A trip of a lifetime!

What leadtime was required to arrange for Sabine to instruct??
That must be one special experience!!!

It is interesting that even with CL wheels the tool kit includes the aluminum locator rods for 5 lugs...what??
Guess the kits are pre-packaged.

Keep the pics & reports coming!!!

According to the configurator, the silver wheels have hub covers with a full-colour Porsche crest instead of a GT3 logo. I think it's the same car.
