Default Can back seats be fitted to a GT3 ?

I don't know if I was drunk or something (just joking !), but I remember reading somewhere that back seats could be fitted to a GT3 ?

Is this possible or am I totally wrong ?

Try forum search

For safety reasons, I wouldn't do it.

NXSTC didn't install rear seat backs. He only installed seat belts and baby seats.

Anything can be done for a price. I'd imagine it's an expensive / time consuming tho, as it appears you would need quite a bit in the way of parts.

You can fit back seats into all gt3's up to and including the 997 mkI... They fit into stock fixing points but you do have to weld in the seat back supports (see recent gt3 sound thread which clearly pictures these in the back of a C2S).

With the 997 mkII, the seats supposedly can no longer be done and I have confirmed this with Porsche. In an effort to reduce weight (great thing) they left out some of the rear seat-tub panels and supports that aren't needed for the car's structural integrity. I suppose we won't know exactly how much has been left off until someone pulls back the carpets... Therefore apart from legal reasons in some countries, there are now the added reasons of safety, complexity and possibly lack of fixing points.
