That is a wheel from one of the prototypes, I took it when in Leipzig.

The square drive hole on the tool looked big, bigger than 1/2", so you probably need an adapter for your torque wrench too.

There is also a piece, not present at the meeting but the PCNA rep described it, that mates the new center hub locking mechanism to hub with five bolts. Speculation is that there will be a retrofit for current cars the owners of which want to install these trick, expensive, centerlock wheels.

Does the factory installed unit come with an "underlying" five lug hub or is it purely a centerlock? They say it saves weight, so it surely has to replace, not adapt the five slug.

Which begs the question: What are the different parts shown in the attached photo????
Can anyone find a exploded view in PET??

IFrom left to right, the torque multiplying tool, five lugs to hold on teh hub, the nut with dust cap and the tool to torque and remove the centerlock.

This retrofit kit is hopefully not at all the solution coming with the GT3 and the 475Nm suggests the 100 ftlb reference is an entirely different piece of kit.

Actually since there is a torque multiplying tool shown, maybe the 100 ft lb figure could be correct too (OP).

IIRC the torque multiplier for the CGT was around $1600.

PCNA rep was that clear the the torque multipier tool was not needed for these wheels. I agree with Larry that it is a different setup, including a different locking pin (center vs radial.) We have yet to see how the new hub is attached.
