Sadly, if Porsche is willing to put "GTS" on a bloody Cayenne, nothing's holding them back from putting RS on the Panacebo for that matter.
When I saw the GTS on the Cayenne that was the first time I questioned my unreasonable desire of the GT3RS. But only for a couple minutes.

I heard from a insider that it will be between 570-580 bhp, and actually 150-200 kg lighter.
The guy has driven the car.. But would of course not say the exact numbers.

Did he mention if the car would be sold in the USA?

Well, if they really do pull 400 lbs out of it, I wouldn't expect it to be set up (gearing, aero) for top speed. Even Lamborghini seems to have gone away from top speed (I guess the demand for exceeding 220 mph just isn't what it used to be...) If they could do something like make it re-write the book on 0-100-0, that would where the tuners could set their sites. It's surely going to raise the bar on production car lap records at the ring (notwithstanding low volume cars like the Radical.)

porsche has to be tired of aftermarket tuners or other manufacturers like Ruf charging so much money for 911 variants- they will charge exactly what they can for this car- I'm sure Wiedeking wants to have more cash to buy more car companies with!

My dealer claims IF they build it (his rep called him to ask if he thought there would be any demand for such a car) it would not be street legal and cost upwards of 300k, No other details were discussed. Just passing it along.

- thats a cupcar so no point
- has to be street legal if they want a ring time for marketing
- gt is now 300k so no point at that price point either imo
- they have all the parts, they just have to put them together, crash a few, record a 7:20 ring time while making a cool video and then pick a price point that will sell the number they want to sell (my guess is $225 might work)

let me make it easy for them (just forward these specs)
- wide body front and rear (265f, 345r)
- ohlin 3 way adjustable suspension (with new lifting feature from the gt3)
- 6speed with rsr gearing ratios for the track (top speed 175)
- motorport rsr LSD
- motorsport ABS
- a front end that looks like the 2009rsr for real downforce
- 2009 rsr rear wing
- new iron rotors from the gt3

- to make it "trackable" at the limit, slightly lower the boost ramp rate but raise to rpm limit to 7500 for higher hp but keep the boost profile "trackable"

weight "with fluids" = 3000#

+1 and use the RS wing instead of the "Flying Nun" on the GT2

I like the way you think, except the price take but it will happen as well

IMO, Carrera GT at that point, although i'm sure to most of us we'll feel more comfy ringing out a GT2/RS rather then a Carrera GT!

they should just use various boost or fuel maps like the RSR does- from leaner to fatter which in boost terms could let you learn the car at a slower pace and then ramp it up once you're comfortable. just have a toggle like the ferraris do.

disclaimer: putting the boost map on the highest setting is for experienced drivers only. any crap that leaks out of your pants onto the $6,000 seat is yours to deal with. also watch out for deers, miatas and pedestrians at warp speed.

If its 400 lbs less, doubt it'll come to US....Sunroof delete?...they'd have to crash test a bunch of stuff to pass, so that'd make the car about $350k.....I'll take a used CGT at that entry point....or a Scud.

Wolfgang Durheimer, head of R&D at Weissach, has hinted at such a configuration, but for race applications only...
