I love this car. Sounds perfect. I'd like to buy one, but am doing what you are probably doing with the CGT: waiting for a steal. Most of the trades in real estate and cars right now are forced sellers and opportunistic buyers. Other than those cases, the buyers seem willing to wait, and the sellers don't need to sell at massively reduced prices so keep them listed high in the hopes that the buyers show up.
I have tried to buy a couple of houses and see the same thing over and over: I am the only legit potential buyer looking at the house in question, but I am 30% away from the seller. The problem is that there is no other buyer between me and the seller. So no trade will get done unless the seller faces a crisis or a motivated buyer shows up from somewhere.

NYC123 is a great guy and a true car collector. He always keeps his cars in over the top conditions. Someone looking for a low mile RS in perfect condition? THIS IS THE ONE.
good luck with the sale buddy.

-- in the end, given fact that you are comfortable with the car and the seller, its the price that would matter, and in this market everyone is looking for the deal that wasn't even possible a few months ago
-- "opportunistic buyer"...looking for a deal is pretty much the order of things now - and even "the big boys" looking for a CGT are doing the same thing.....its all about which level of a buyers market playing field you're playing on

Im willing to still pay MSRP on the right car, even a slightly used one. Some sellers are still pricing their used GT3s above that. This is where the problem lies. I just dont think the market is still at that point anymore.

I think you can find cars at msrp for sure the only cars that might or might not be worth slightly more are the cars that are still basically new and never used in the right colors which I think are orange, green, and white. full disclosure I am very biased as this is what I own but it is still what I think. Similar to the carrera gt market right now I think there is a big difference in price of a sub 1,000 mile car and a 2,000-3,000 mile car. now if that it not important to you then then is no reason to pay up. Some people like me tend to like fresh and never used. But that is why I am asking a few grand over msrp for my new 2008 green (and why I payed a high price for it a few weeks ago). I would not have payed or would I today over msrp for a car w/ miles on it or a blk /silver car. Just my opinion

It really isn't scary, the Dumocrats have talked us into a recession; and our newly elected President is going to talk us into a depression if he keeps talking about how grim things are at the moment. Compounded by the fact he is already talking about a second bailout package before the first one is enacted. How stupid and inexperienced is that?
Why wouldn't they slow things down and get the first one right, with everyone on board?. Well, that approach wouldn't buy enough votes to institutionalize the Dumocratic party, instead they want to redistribute money to the non-payers.
Unfortunately, the dumbing down of America has succeeded, the scary part is that it might not be reversible.
All markets are soft, but the RS has held up better than most; look at Ferrari they have almost turned out the lights. Their market bubble has burst, their Dealers are broke and can't support the market that they successfully manipulated for years.
Moral of the story: Never buy any car that that you don't want to own (and/or enjoy) for a long time or else be prepared to suffer the consequences.

What do you guys think an 08 green RS, 3,000 miles, Bi-xenon, PCM with Nav, PCCB's, Sport chrono, is worth? My dealer has one on the floor. Don't know the history (yet). Dealer's asking price is ludicrous, but they always do that on used cars. I'm more focused on a 997.2 GT3, but that damn RS is calling out my name!

The market for the RS is going nowhere but down. That said, it is a great car for the track and the street. If you are a Porsche enthusiast and a track junkie there is not a better car. Hopefully the lessons with Craig Stanton and Kort Wagner will start to payoff.
The CGT is probably heading down as well...the only thing keeping the value up is the number of cars shipped back across the Atlantic.

Oh this is Victor btw, thanks again for looking into the hat.

If its the one at Downtown Porsche in LA, don't bother. They want wayyyyyy to much for the car. Like cars are going for 145k on Ebay every week, there's one on there now with the same options plus a Porsche roll bar for 145k. FYI. I'd wait for the Mk2 instead of selling the farm for that car.
