But the buyer of your car knows these cars well, and also knew that you took good care of it. Those who get scared off by high miles per se, well...

The market for 07 and 08's is soft. There is nothing to debate here, it is simple economics. I paid 37k over sticker for my 07 RS in December 2007.

I can buy an 08 RS with 70 miles(black car with ceramics) for sticker. I have never seen cars depreciate as quickly as they have in the last 90 days...kinda scary!

It really isn't scary, the Dumocrats have talked us into a recession; and our newly elected President is going to talk us into a depression if he keeps talking about how grim things are at the moment. Compounded by the fact he is already talking about a second bailout package before the first one is enacted. How stupid and inexperienced is that?

Why wouldn't they slow things down and get the first one right, with everyone on board?. Well, that approach wouldn't buy enough votes to institutionalize the Dumocratic party, instead they want to redistribute money to the non-payers.

Unfortunately, the dumbing down of America has succeeded, the scary part is that it might not be reversible.

All markets are soft, but the RS has held up better than most; look at Ferrari they have almost turned out the lights. Their market bubble has burst, their Dealers are broke and can't support the market that they successfully manipulated for years.

Moral of the story: Never buy any car that that you don't want to own (and/or enjoy) for a long time or else be prepared to suffer the consequences.

Perhaps you should have taken the money considering the state of the economy.
If in fact the offer was serious

We have had the worst first quarter in FY 09 as we have had in history. Stuff may still depreciate.
I dont know about this car though. Kinda rare to find one with less than 1K miles. Lots of options hurts.

Not sure how the democrats are impacting the deprecation of cars but you are entitled to your opinion. I didn't vote for Obama because of his lack of experience. America is clearly in a bad place and only time can fix the damage that has been done the past 8 years. My simple solution is to work a little bit harder and complain a little bit less.

The car I am referring to is in Los Angeles and I will probably buy it Monday.

I've been following it because of the no options (except PCCBs) and I like it a lot but it's still over the original MSRP.
I sent an email to the dealer but they didn't reply!
Whatever...

Spoke to my Dealer in West Palm Beach, FL and he told me that this is the worst time of year to sell a Porsche in any market and that the time to sell is not until mayber March. They see the price fall off 10 to 15% every year at this time. We will see if this is true this year?

If the "market" believes that there is going to be a second "bail out package", then the downturn is going to be prolonged as people wait for the future stimulus. Car sales will get worse, so depreciation should increase under that scenario.

I hope the talk of a second bail out plan dies quickly, or they fix the first proposed one, but there is little chance of that happening.

Why sell, other than the obvious economic issues. Best of luck.

The market for the RS is going nowhere but down. That said, it is a great car for the track and the street. If you are a Porsche enthusiast and a track junkie there is not a better car. Hopefully the lessons with Craig Stanton and Kort Wagner will start to payoff.

The CGT is probably heading down as well...the only thing keeping the value up is the number of cars shipped back across the Atlantic.
