How much damage can come to a car during its ownership can vary from one person to another. The film once installed will be subject to whatever road conditions are out there as well as the way the owner drives, which has no bearing on our installation. For example here, this car recently saw some moderate damage when the owner's wife turned the car into a parking lot divider.
1. it saved the door from a repaint and the rear panel from a blend
2. it saved the owner time. The time it took for us to remove the clear bra and reapply it would was 2.5 hrs. At the paintshop, it would have been 1 week
Owner of this car was very happy that the clear bra did its job and took 100% of the damage. He found the protection very helpful. For the film to take an actual tear, it would have to be a very sharp or hard blunt object.

Whatever the case might be, does it make sense to you that if a car's documented installation pictures show that there was no tear on the clearbra, that somehow, later on after it leaves the facility, that tears will spontaneously appear on the clearbra?
I have had two cars with clearbra done by Premier, and neither one has spontaneous tears on the clearbraed surface.
I have had 3M and Venture shields and have had clearbra on E46 M3 (done by some guy in Indiana), Turbo (done by Invisage), GT2 and S4 Avant (done by Premier). None had spontaneous tears on them. The M3 had a tear on the bumper because I put it there during a botched drive on attempt to put it on the ramp for DIY job.

Usually just surfing through here and on another section, found a link to this. This is pretty amusing, but I have to put in my thoughts here. The red car pointed out in the other thread that this gentleman posted bout looks like tears or something just ripped the guards. Why would Premier be blamed for this? I had my factory 3m stone guard damaged from a flying piece of rubber that was probably no more than several inches traveling about 80mph (yeh, there's crap all over 101). It left a permanent tear in the guard, but didn't hit paint. I'm glad Porsche put the 3m guards there. I guess they know a little something. Point is, the pix that Premier put up with the car above shows how strong the stuff is. I guess the guy's lucky that he did the doors becuase most people probably don't even think about it. After seeing the pix, I would consider that for my next car. Premier did excellent work on my cars and wouldn't hesitate to use 'em again. In fact, I have lost count to how many people I recommend over to them and everyone's happy. BTW, I have about 9000 miles on the turbo and only one tear on my factory guard by the wheel hip. I think the red car with the other gentleman is an anomaly just like how my factory guard got hit by a large piece of flying rubber

This has been an interesting thread indeed. I really didn’t want to put in my 0.02c, but one of my cars were part of the discussion, I feel it nec for me to talk aboutit. But it certainly made for a great distraction from current news headlines.
I don’t have an axe to grind with Colm, although, his installer of choice (not gonna name names) really made a fricken mess on my P-car. For those who have seen my other thread, you already know what happened. For those who didn't, this is the story. About a year ago, I picked up a new TT from Carlsen Porsche. Brought it to SR one weekend and met Colm. We shot the **** about cars and one thing lead to the next and we started talking about protection. Colm was very adamant about me not using Premier. I used Detailing Dynamics in the past prior to relocating to California. Not having any experience of hwo to go to, I decided to use his installer as he had so highly recommended (value being important). Well, to make a long story short, I had my TT done by his recommendation and the work was nowhere near my average standards. I called the installer and never got any replies (I believe the guy was having some marital issues). In any case, I took the car to Premier and to my horror, we found exacto cuts on my car after the 3m was removed. Damage similar to the RS on the 1st page. Let’s just say there were parts of my new Porsche that needed some re-paint at the bodywork shop.
I don't have any personal gripes with Colm despite what happened. I’m a quick study and easy going. Just very surprised with how easily anyone can overlook it. After seeing what Colm's recommended installer did to my, at the time, brand new TT. I am certain Colm has similar damage on his car(s). The situation is over and the car has since been sold, so I don't stress over this anymore. One thing I can say is that Premier's work and service lives up to their reputation. You’ll definitely pay a little more, but if you have an eye for detail and your standards are higher than my ave standards, then Premier is well worth it. I had them do my RS a while ago and have put 6500 miles and it still looks great. I’ve used another installer before I moved to California, so I do have some experience with this stuff and Premier’s job trumps over everything I’ve seen to date. There you go, my full 2 pennies. Pogue: Looking at the list of your vehicles, you've probably got better ways to spend your time. I'd probably just ask to have the car redone for a reasonable fee. Many (most?) of your cars cost more than my home and were I the clear-bra "type", I'd have long since just written out a check.
Premier: Cut the guy a helluva deal on redoing the car and call it a day.

Any new paint out-gas for years. The possible disadventage of this wrapping is in about 10-15 years time, by then who can remember who to blame?
