Here's a video (1:31 lap) from my first time at thunderbolt. Hope it helps.

Nice video rmag.

Heres another (Rolex series): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpLPsUfof0Y

The vid is not linear so to follow watch the vid until you see the bridge - 'pit in' is right past same (you will see the white concrete curbing); 'pit out' is at the end of the long straight following, so for your purposes the circuit starts there.

The track is a lot of fun - you will have a great time!

I can't wait to try it next year. When does PCA typically post schedule for events?

what gears should gt3 be in over a lap there? video seems to show mostly 3rd with some 4th and then little 5th in main straight. isnt 4th good to over 150? how fast does the main straight get?

thanks

the main straight is not very long, 150mph would be a good guess for a gt3

the last turn which puts you onto the main straight is the one you don't want to mess up.
i've see a few incidents there. car goes wide onto grass left, crosses track, hits wall on right.

Ouch!! at first it is painful to see a 997 Turbo off track, but the red car made me feel sorry, those things have a very complex undertray Aero.

3rd & 4th is what I saw. The GT3 I rode in hit 150mph w/o the Hoosiers. Other GT3 drivers have also said ~150 or so.

T3 can be trouble too, don't let its benign looks fool you - no early apex there and if you do ride it out off track don't try to save it ;-)

i cant wait to try it. seems like the straits are more like limerock where i only get to 135 as opposed to glen where i do get 150. i think i better start out in novice with an instructor.
