Springs:
I'm pulling out the stock struts and I want to get a reading of the stock spring rates.
Alignment:
I really don't like leaving my car for 2-3 days at a race shop waiting for just an alignment. Anyone knows of a place with a computerized alignment system?. The two race shops that have aligned my car in L.A. have not provided me the requested "Before Alignment" print-out. This is my baseline to improve the car's handling, especially when getting to know a different car. These are great shops, but they're quite busy with their racing programs.
Thanks

ARLING at Lucent technologies has the big ole Laser frame
with laser alignments and corner balance.
Last time I was in there he had Guns and Roses
GT3 in there.

I just spoke with 2 different guys who recommended both Lucent and BBI. BBI more for the alignment. Joey or Betim at BBI are the guys to speak with.

Joey also work for Greg Fordahl - engineer for Alex Jobbs racing both GT3 and the current DP. Greg And his wife are also AutoCross champs for multiple years. Joey knows GT3s and racing/ Autocross set ups.

A shock dyno is to graph damper performance, not so much spring rates. There are spring testers that will give you actual spring rate, however.

I go to Johnson's Alignment (not laser certainly....old school) and they suit my needs. Although I live in Mount Washington, so Torrance is a bit of a hike.

I have seen the machine, they apply pressure to the spring and measure spring travel and weight applied to determine spring rates at multiple weights.

I just spoke to them.
What a small world. They used to work with Greg Fordahl. Fordahl Motorsports is probably the most experienced Porsche shop in the world for AutoX preparation. Greg was a great help during my development with the 996 GT3, my old GT3 got a 1st and 2nd place at the SCCA Solo Nationals in 2006.
Things like "locking the eccentrics and setting camber with shims", "toe links", "bump steer", only come from experienced shops with Porsche 996/997 alignments.
