Default Full exhaust for GT3 RS

This isn't for me, but for a good friend who recently purchased a GT3 RS:

The car is brilliant but too quiet. He'd like to do everything, headers/cats/muffler... looking for a nice increase in power and sound. Relatively loud is ok (say comparable to an F360 with a Tubi), but nothing deafening

Also reasonable driving distance from NYC is a plus, he'd like to have it installed by the vendor. He's looked at AWE, Fabspeed, and some other system (can't remember the name) that he mentioned was about $10,000 (?!?!).

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Brad

The $10000 system is likely Farnbacher.

most after market exhaust systems don't really add "hp" unless they are coupled with remap of the dme to take advantage of the "freer flow design"... But, on the other hand I have read numerous articles stating that Porsche did an excellent job with their system - wasted no hp due to a restrictive exhaust system...

that said, and I have been doing some research, found the farnbacher loles system amongst the most expensive but at the same time the best "looking" design... have no affiliations whatsoever... just a potential customer trying to pull the trigger for the near 10G upgrade for an exhaust system...ugh

I am no expert on exhaust systems for our cars... just reporting what I have found and read...

- if you are thinking about 10G's for an exhaust, why not spend a few more $ and get a 3.8 conversion for real proven power (Sharkwerks + others) - or better yet, add another 10Gs and make it a 4.0 conversion

- when my warranty is up, a 4.0 conversion is tops on my list - that is unless i can buy a 4 liter direct injected 8400rpm 3000# gt3 with 480hp for 100k

Ah yeah that's it - Farnbacher Loles. Well a few things - yes I was going to recommend that he do an ECU remap with the exhaust, as a header back exhaust is a pretty big change to the whole system and I imagine it might throw the air-fuel ratios off a bit. He's the kinda guy who doesn't really want to spend the 10 G's (who does?), but will do it if it is absolutely the best sounding and best performing system out there (by a noticable margin). Regarding the 3.8/4.0 conversion, I don't think he'd go there as he might fear impact to the car's collector value. Honestly... and this is my point of view... the car just needs to sound better. Power gains are of course nice, but the thing is frikkin fast enough as it is!

Thanks for the input and keep the suggestions/insight coming.

Cheers,

Brad

The farnbacherloles system sounds amazing on a gt3. Wait until you see that facility, it's really major league. I wouldn't hesitate to go with their stuff (and have). Call and ask for Kip Harris.

Couldn't agree more, that setup is well worth it and Farnbacher is amazing!

Great info! Well I've relayed to him some of the feedback and he's deliberating. The cup exhaust looks interesting, but how loud are those things? I personally would do the bypass and call it a day, but we'll see what he comes up with. Maybe I'll post a video Thanks all
