Try the same in a C4S or Turbo PDK (does it exist?) and it WILL fail eventually. 2WD makes the tires the "fuse" in the system. In AWD, its something else: either the clutch or the tranny will fail from abuse.

I don't know if the transmission failures are quite as represented here. Were the cars "chipped" (flashed really)? It seems to be the popular thing with turbo cars. Were instructions on how to use launch Control followed? I don't know the answers to those questions, but it would not surprise me that GTR owners crying "foul" had either modified the car, or ignored explicit instructions, or both.

In the meantime, I hope that the performance of the GTR causes Porsche to raise the performance bar. Oh, and yes I have driven them both, on the track too. Would I buy a GTR? No. Then again I wouldn't buy a Z06 either, but won't deny the bang-for-the-buck factor.

As to bashing the GTR, I'd like to think we Porsche owners are above that sort of thing.

Best to all,
I hope not. The only way to raise the performance bar is by raising the price bar or by lowering the quality bar. It is not like Porsche engineers are going to do free double shifts just so they could they could teach Nissan a lesson.

Yes, well at least I'm consistent. I think his SLR is ugly too.

i just wish it was only a two seater. that way it may have a shorter wheelbase and weigh less. have seen them in the street, and i have to be honest that i like the look especially the rear. the simple round tail lights with the dual exhaust looks ferrari like. would love to drive one..

Seen GTR at the drags it ran 7.20's in the 1/8th mile seemed to hold up good there.
