Default passing sound at laguna seca

so guys- I know a few of you have driven with the archaic sound limits @ laguna seca- I'm trying to run with speed ventures nov. 24-25th in my RS.

what are the options-

short shift going up the hill?
get a super trap thingy?
get a full on turn down thing?

combo?

thanks guys...

worst case I'll bring my mx5 out and put the skip barber school exhaust on there

Buy one of those post-exhaust mufflers I've seen. It looks like an old-school VW stinger hanging out the back perpendicular to the car. That'll get you under the dB limit.

their website says it a 92db day, while still archane it is better than a 90db day, which might fail the stock exhaust...give Mooty a pm...he has run his RS at Laguna at 92db...

STOCK 7GT3 or 7RS will NOT pass sound at 92db, period.
turn down alone will not work.
turn down and stuff foam into the airbox get you close.
move left and lift after T5 will do the trick but you will slow down a lot.
you can wire the vacuum flap so it is ALWAYS closed then u are fine.

now this is done with the sport button off.
if you have sport button on... God help you.

yeah, there's an idea...make their ears bleed and you get a stiff fine along with the black flag...mooty knows of which he speaks...I was black flagged in a stock 996 GT3 on a 90db day

Default ooh, and cfra is at infineon the day before

that might be a nice 3-day track weekend.
john, you going?

i had to short shift to 5th, keep sport button disengaged (plugged in my baffle sensor of course) and keep the rpm's under 4k to not get black flagged up past the sounding station. you do lose a lot of speed and its frustrating. john's solution is to bring his 996.

they send out a roaming sound check guy too for the drivers that have pipes that point the noise to the left away from the sound station and/or noticeable move off line from the station as they approach turn 6. i have seen them at start finish on the left.
