Are the (red) standard brake calipers on the GT3 the same as the (yellow) caliper used for the PCCB setup, or are they different?
Thanks.
Thanks.

have to use the yellows. they're much larger and calibrated differently I'm sure as well. PCCB is an entire system, and the only thing I know that's mutually compatible is going with the iron cup car rotors and reusing the yellow calipers. if you've got the reds, you've got options but PCCB isn't one of them unless you want to swap out everything.

btw, I will post this in my thread on this swap, but the weight savings is 44 lbs, and that is from only the rotors. The calipers weigh the same and I can tell you that the uprights are almost the same and can only be a few onces off due to the extra aluminum to bring the front caaliper further out.
44 lbs!!! I have been weighing everything with multiple scales and methods. I am happy now!

I was reading on the Porsche web site that the yellow calipers are aluminum while the red ones are steel. However they pretty much weight the same since the yellow ones are bigger.

I still need to measure the rears, maybe there is another lb on each rear caliper to be had. If so, then we are at about 46 lbs. I will check this today (my rear reds are still attached to the brake lines).

Then a magnet would stick to a red and not a yellow.
Steel is mostly iron.
Aluminum is non-magnetic. (paramagnetic)

All Porsche brake calipers on the 997 GT3 are aluminum whether PCCB or not, 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Larger pad surface area with the Yellows and 380 mm rotors vs. 350. The hats on the PCCB rotors are aluminum, thus much of the weight reduction. I've heard, read, and listened to serious track guys that bought a 997 with PCCB and have since removed the ceramic rotors and put steel cup rotors on for various reasons (PCCB not really for the track at 10/10, no pad variety, easy to chip / crack, etc.).
