I think that my problem is power understeer when I'm trying to hussle through slower curves. The understeer starts to occur just before the apex and corrects before corner exit. I've tried trail braking and deliberately "rotating" the car - this helps some what. High speed turns are not a problem and the car is very stable.

- get your sways back to where they were or add the gt2 rear bar + get rid of those stock tires

I agree. I'm going to switch the sway bars. Also, maybe decrease the rebound setting in the front.
How did you finally make out with the R888's in the 19 inch size? I wonder how they compare to the 18 inch size with 225 F and 315 R ?

- what i like is that the tires see to somehow be "softer" by this i mean you can feel them grip / feel the slip angle and they give you the feedback without being twichie
- i don't know how the 18"'s measure but the 19" 235/305 meassure like 245/315 tread wise as the tires are more square and seem to make the car balance well with my current settings
- that said, i may have to very, very slightly push out the front fender with my volk te37s being a few mils more outwardly offset in order to avoid the very slight rub in the front left fender under very hard cornering (turn #1 at WG / turn #5b at Mosport)

Well had a great few days at the Ring, one of which was the Manthey trackday, so loads of GT3's in various forms of tune.
I had my car set up for a GP circuit, so knew it would be too stiff, but wanted to start there as a base, and change the set up from there.
After getting into the groove of the track, i softened the high speed bump gardually more over a couple of days. This made the car ride the bumps better, but started to make the body control a bit loose, so i turned the low speed bump up, and this settled things nicely.
By the end of the Manthey day, i was much happier with the setup, but still feel it would have been even better if i softened it more.
The turn in and balance of the car is amazing though.
I was using R888's which are great up to a point, but i feel they are pretty scary right on the limit, and so never got the confidence to push them really hard, i think i will go back to Cups or Corsas for road/track tyres, as they seem much more predictable.
Some footage here of an 8:02 lap, it's in 2 halves, as it's a rather large file just for one lap.

For those of you that have switched to the GT2 bar, was this to get rid of the understeer during fast or slow turns. I am very happy at the moment with my high speed stability with the R888's at 255/315 18's, but have my front sway bar set at full soft, rear full stiff, and the car still plows thru the slow turns.

-2.8f with 1/16th total toe-out
-2.3r with stock toe-in
- front sway stock (1 from soft)
- rear sway gt2 bar on middle of 3 holes
- I have done 6 track days on the above setup (2 VIR, 2 Watkins, 2 Mosport)
- 3 of those (1 Watkins, 2 Mosport) were done with 19" R888s (235/305)
- these 19" r888s meassure like 245/315s
- the abve setup has reduced most of the slow speed push
- the car is neutral in the highspeed stuff with a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of power overstear (which i think is perfect as you can drive with your right foot confidently)
- the r888s are not hoosiers, but for those that drive to the track, i really like them (35f, 38r hot)
- with the above setup, i have found that the soft suspension setting works best

I will try to run some more negative camber (just using the track settings from the book at the moment) up front and see if I can get rid of the push during slow turns, and if not I will try the GT2 bar next. What does this thing cost anyway (being that it is a gt2 bar, I presume it's $1K)

Im pretty sure you will like my setup far better than what you are running now - more in the front plus less in the rear. It has taken me almost 30 days to dial it in and it is about the ultimate street plus track setup I have found - the toe out is also key. The rear bar plus two bushings plus install should be under 1000

Just back from a couple of days at Spa.
We had four 997RS's and one 996RS on the intrax dampers.
The weather alternated between wet and dry over the two days so were on the Hoosiers some of the time and then either Corsa System or R888's (Cups in the case of the 996).
All five cars were absolutely sensational at Spa - in all conditions.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Henk the founder of Intrax came out with each of us and reeled off a few quick laps to gauge the setup. He tweaked settings on one car very slightly but otherwise pronounced he was very happy with the balance.
For the first time since I got my 997RS I'm truly delighted with the setup.
Spa is an epic circuit. So many incredible corners. Eau rouge, Blanchimont, Pouhon, Rivage, Les combes. Big gradient changes and cambers.

Please share your settings for high speed rebound and compression for the Front and Rear? Also, do you find that changing the low speed setting in the Rear from 7 to 9 or 10 makes a big difference? Have you had to change the front settings at all. I'm running -12 rebound, 10 compression and 7 slow.
