Unhappy GT2 at Braman in West Palm Beach, FL

White GT2 just arrived at Braman Porsche in West Palm Beach, FL. We were there when they put in on showroom. What an absolutely beautiful car, I cannot remember a 911 that was better looking. Just tooooo much money.

I'm down here at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm today, and I was talking with a few of the guys at the Bertil Roos school. I hear that GT2 is $209K +++++ $100K over MSRP.

WHAT??? If my math is right.... that's $309,000 !!!!!!!!!

i was at braman today and saw the white gt2-i spoke with the salesman (chip?)-really nice guy who was very informative about that car and the porsche market in general-i just bought a carrera s in nj where i live, and the salesman was very accurate and honest-they want about 300k for the gt2-really stunning car, but i would be appropriate for someone who wants to track it or drive on nice days, but a stunning car.

The GT2 is a beautiful car at sticker...although I have to admit I paid a big premium for my RS. But that was after waiting a year to see if the market corrected.

Sorry but I can't help but repost my earlier one in the 996 GT2 forum. I just got my new ride - a white 6 GT2. Awesome for 1/2 the original msrp.

What a hell of a ride! It's like my former 7 GT3 on steroids. Gobbles of torque and yet good top end. Handling is razor sharp & communicative. Very interactive and involving w/c is just what I want. Helps bring back the 'thrill of driving'. Respect it and it'll give you lot's of rewards. Not as bad as the reviews and mags say about it being a 'widowmaker'. Probably true if you don't have half a brain in terms of driving high performance cars. Slow in and fast out is all you have to remember and you're fine. But of course, modulate your 'fast out' or you'll get the rear out w/c is fun in my opinion. Brakes are awesome of course and suspension is fine for the street but damping is a bit soft so I may adjust a bit. I love this car. At long last I've had my dream car. And for what - half it's MSRP w/ 5K miles on the odometer. I can't wait to take this to the track and really take it to the limit. Took it to 285Km/hr on a few stretches today. I'll probably get a GIAC reflash to take it to 525bhp and that's it. Beyond that will likely distort its dynamics. For a drag race, I think a modded X50 will do more justice. This is a car that will give you back constant feedback as if you had a few expressos. I urge all of you who don't have one or are looking at a 7 GT2 is to consider one if one is available. Only 1,061 units were made globally. They say 25% were trashed so supply is gonna be tight.

I saw a red GT2 at Daytona during Rennfest months ago, and although it is a nice looking car, I don't think it comes close to the RS. Of course it is a matter of taste, but to me it just looks like a turbo with nice wheels, front bumper and rear spoiler (which I'm not that fond of anyway). And I know that the RS is of course just a 997S with nice front spoiler, rear wing and center exhaust.
And don't get me started on Brahman, I wouldn't buy another car from them if it was the the first and only street legal GT3RSR. I do like Joe Ferguson over there
