Default Need Help next Porsche

My goal was to have every RS car made.... After I sold my 73 RS. ( did not drive it ) my focus has changed a little...I want to own cars for the driving experience not to sit in the hangar with a cover on them...

I am going to add a car this year... What should it be?
I just added a 360 Ferrari 6 speed. It is o.k.??

Can you guy's give me some suggestions and why??

Thanks

Duplicate post on 6 Speed....

The only Porsche I would bother with anymore is the 7 RS. What's wrong with starting there? Sell your GT3.

430 Spider will be my next car.

The CGT is the one I am looking at very hard. The prices seem a little out of wack. I hope I did not miss the oportunity.

There is no difference in my mind in the RS... I drive the snot out of the 7 GT3. I have a feeling the $$ will come down on the RS, then I will add one.

THanks for the imput.

Hey Joe, did you say "driving experience?"

Two from all the years stand tall above the rest:

1988 Ruf CTR (if I could have only one 911...)
2004 Carrera GT (game over).

The CTR1 takes everything lovable about the experience of driving an early 911 and pairs that with the power and -- if you're up to the challenge -- pace of a modern GT2/GT3. And the noises are strictly RSR, how with two turbos I do not know. The C-GT is just one of the very best Porsches -- and sports cars -- ever made, and does not "do" it with electronic trickery. The shifting is awe-inspiring, the clutch very learnable, the handling big fun, the engine seamless and powerful everywhere. And the noises are strictly ALMS, and insanely good.

Add in something early (SWB?) and something a little more usable more of the time (i.e. nearly any late 911, and your 964, 993, or GT3 will certainly do) and you'd be done this side of race cars.

Just my 2 cents.

pete

WONDERFUL.

CGT if i were ever in your position.
quality is more important than quantity. not that i am saying your collection is lacking in quality. but you know what i mean.

i wouldn't bother getting RS since you got GT3 already. the change is not dramatic and you are collecting them like statues.

Pete,

Thanks for the input. You of all people should know.

Every since we talked at TH I have been thinking about the CTR1. I have read that article 10 times... If you ever come up with a lead on one let me know. I agree, I have to have one.

The CGT is on the list. After talking with Jeff at Rothsport I decided to wait. The car seems so fast, not sure how usable it is on the street?? For some reason I had the F car itch... Not a huge fan but, I am going to keep it, fun car but not a Porsche.... I need to drive a CGt... I am kinda waiting until the market levels out...I know if I drive one that will be it. I will sell my sole to own one... At least that what others have told me.

I think you hit it on the head. I need both those cars....

Great article by the way. One of your best. It was great to read having some inside info... See you at the track next year.

If you every get up to the NW. Make sure you look me up, Dinner and a loaner car on me...

Happy New year...

Should have kept the original RS..... A complete collection of RS versions would be cool!

Perhaps 993GT2, 964 3.3 Turbo S (European version with 380bhp and RS chassis), 964 RS 3.8? Are you looking to import again?

Joe:
If you are not in a hurry why don't you give a call to Zuffenhausen in order to pay for an allocation for the 2009/10 950 bhp GT1?

Harry,

You are reading my mind. I have had my eye out for a Turbo S or a 3.8 car.

The Dollar is soo weak. Not sure if it is a good idea. All the cars you mention great cars. Thomas has a Turbo S, but for over $200K??

Another trip to Germany would be great....

What does Pete Know??? years of writing and testing Porsches and all their Derivatives? what gives him the write (I did that on purpose) to tell us what Porsche or RUF to have?(LOL)

Having said all that I think the GT3/RS is a bullet proof collectable that you
can drive everyday.

(I would listen to Pete if I were you)

I don't really think CGT prices are going to come back down, just pick a color and get one.

zico- are they really making the gt1?

by then I might be able to afford something like that (LOL)
