dude the 140k red CTR looks pretty good. those cars are beasts, I'd take a CTR over a similarly priced GT2, but- and it's a big but- good luck finding one of the 29 CTRs for less than 140k.

Here is my 2001 RGT. It is a special car and there are very few RGT's around.

I agree with Rob in that the GT2 has always been interesting to me, and the price is right.

When I went to pick up my RUF RGT look what was in the showroom. A very special ride indeed.

Which One?

Yellowbird?
RGT?
996 GT2?

All of the above?

If I can find the right CTR I will pull the trigger... I may need to sell the Turbo and the Cab but I will do it..

If not I can pull off the GT2 in the summer...

All in all those are the 2 cars I am fosusing on..

I would also like to find a high milage 996 Turbo to drive next winter. I am racking up the miles on the RS America...

Thanks for asking...

Joey!

Don't listen to Wolford. That guy still wants a Stradale. Stop wasting your time with GT2s and CTRs - you have plenty of insanely trick 911-based derivatives. I believe that your motivation to purchase the 360 was to try something new and to diversify a bit. I did the same thing with the Stradale - big mistake. Sell the pizza delivery car, the turbo and the cab and buy a CGT. Game over. Its simply the best sports car ever made. And its a baby - very easy to drive. Pete can chime in here. You've already got the production platform game covered. If you don't do a CGT and the CTR is still calling you then I suggest you consider a 288 GTO or F40.

Josh

PS Tell Smithy and Wolfy to stop messing around get a CGT.

Seeing those pictures of 001 makes me smile. I lived with that goofy thing for 2.5 months and 2,500 miles, something I still can't believe. And something I'll never forget.

As for the C-GT, it's a "better" car in every way than the CTR and remains, by miles, the best car of any kind I have ever driven in terms of its overall excellence, its chassis, its brakes, its engine, its transmission, its shifting, and the noises it makes.

The C-GT's clutch is a piece o' cake once you learn new muscle memory. Even uphill starts (without slipping the clutch) aren't an issue once you get it. And, contrary to popular opinion, I do not think the C-GT is hard to drive quickly, at least at 7/10ths to 9/10ths after you learn the car. I have not been to 10/10ths nor 11/10ths, so I cannot comment on its behavior at the ragged edge.

The C-GT is, however, intimidating if you have your head screwed on straight for the first 200-400 miles. There is a LOT of responsibility that rests with you when you are in that car. You also sit well in-board, which makes it feel very wide, and see very little (nothing, actually) of what is ahead of you.

And, well, it's a 600+hp, $400k Porsche.

I think Josh hit the nail on the head re: what you were probably searching for when you bought a Ferrari (I thought the same thing when you did), but for all of the above a C-GT is no replacement for a CTR, or some sort of 911 in the garage.

And so many of the ones in your garage would be on my short list of perfect complementary 911s to keep alongside a C-GT.

But above all of them would be the CTR. Its noises are a match for the C-GT in terms of thrill factor, just very different, and it remains the best-sounding flat six I have ever heard. For this to be true of a turbo motor is nuts. As for the rest of the experience, the car just shouldn't work as well as it does, but it does. For me, the CTR is the ultimate air-cooled driver's 911 among everything I have driven (still missing 911R and 964 RS).

I dunno, you can't lose anyway you go here. But if I could have only three Porsches, it would be:

-Ruf CTR
-Carrera GT

and...

then...

One of the following:

-Very trick 914-6
-964 RS
-993 RS
-Toyo Cup 911
-996 GT3 Mk. II

I'd have a tough time with the last few, but the other two are no-brainers for me.

Wow, I forgot about the pre/post-condom wing-down pics!

On another note, what's that blingy Benz in the background? Didn't you have one of those on order? I really dug those until I saw one in person. Stupid car magazines didn't show us how shiny those (otherwise great) wheels were.

Always amazes me how details can kill or make a car...

I agree with Josh... I am just like Wolford... Lerking in the weeds waiting for the market to soften a little... I don't think it will....I am going to have to step up....

CGT on the list.... Maybe I do need to liquidate some of my Iron and step up... I enjoy driving all my cars... It would be hard to sell 4 to get a CGT...This summer will tell the tale for me. If I cannot enjoy them all some will have to go.

Thanks for the input guys.. I have plenty to think about. Just hope the economy holds, then all will be good.

That white CGT is the best color by far. If I could find a white one I would have to make it happen.

Agreed from a visual standpoint.

F40 LM when done right shreds the C-GT for me visually, but then I don't love the C-GT for its visuals. Sure would like to drive an F40, I hear nothing but good things...

F50 was a disappointment.
