To me the GT-2 is the way to go. The extra flash is not needed that the RS shows. I love the RS for what it is and think it needs to be put up. The GT-2 is a sleeper.

See ya,

The RS is for flashy gentlemen, perhaps?

from a 'Gentlemanly' point of view, the problem with all extreme Porsches has always been the fugly great wings they stick on the back.

Whilst I cannot take a Range Rover to a Classic Race Car meeting, nor can I take a P-car with a huge and ugly duck/whale tail that looks bolt on to my local shoot.

Now, gentlemen are allowed to leer it up a bit, this is why we have Giallo Lamborghinis after all. But when not wanting to draw comment, the Aston Martin DBS is perfect, discrete, with a hint of the thug - a steel fist in a mail glove. Otherwise a Bristol or a traditional Bentley. Audi's S8 with its v10 and great interior is gaining a reputation as a 'Gentleman's Express'.

The King of Sweden drives an M3 CSL. Perhaps this is the ultimate understated 4-seat gentlemen's racer.

I think an "iron fist in a velvet glove" is the new MB CLK 6.3 "Black Series". This is one "bad boy" car.

Hardly understated! he is a fan of Bavarian machinery and is often found to be sharing a classic BMW with Poldi of Bayern. He is usually to been being pulled over by the Swedish poilce for speeding in an M5.

The Aga Khan and the King of Spain have both had sleeper Audis built for them by quattro GmbH.

While I adore my P-cars this is my "gentleman's express"

Other than the fact it weighs >4K#s this is a rocket. My favorite "Q-ship."

It might work as such in your part of the world, but its got a bottom like Fats Waller and those stupid 'flame effect' body panels. Also, it attracts exactly the wrong kind of attention.

But there are a lot of lardy bummed cars around on your roads, so it probably fits right in!

Can you tell me why it has a stupid SLOW button? As far as I am concerned, that is what the accelerator is for. I would say, a nice engine, however. I'll be interested to see how the next M3 CSL turns out, the last one is a hoot.

My idea of a Gentleman's Express is a Bentley Continental.

Bob

I thought that was a great car (if not the most involving drive), and then I realised that Paefgen and Bentley had gone and changed the demographics on us, So, its the car of choice for footballers, Essex Lads (and Ladettes), people who wear Burberry, tattoos, hoop earings, pole dancers, platform shoe wearers........ I think you get the picture.

So now there are Bentleys and 'proper' Bentleys, 'gentlemen' shun the Continental GT, preferring its bigger sibling. I have noticed that a lot of Swiss bankers drive the Continental GT.

The Maserati Quattroporte does quite well in the 'Gentleman's Express' Stakes, it has 'presence'
