As the weather has gotten hotter, I've noticed that my oil temperature has been running between 225 and 250 degrees. Actually, after driving for awhile, most of the time it's closer to 250. (I've been using Mobil 1 - 0W/40). Is this normal for the GT3?

Which one is the oil temp? I am coming from a 996 GT3 we didnt have an oil temp and I have been looking at the water temp I think before I get the revs up-its the guage where the water guage onthe
996 (no car here cant remember)
Going from a 993TT and watching the oil gauge to the 996 where I watched the water gauage-on
this one (997) I have to watch two gauges now.
But I dont drive mine if its over 90 here (107 today) no need to stress the motor if I dont have too.
Winter is coming (we dont have fall) its Football season.

keeping the revs between 4500 to 7500, it goes up to around 230.
I haven't hit 250 yet, but I heard that you should keep it under 250.

Andrew,
Mine has been running in that range as well. I am actually glad to hear others are too. My initial thought was that the screens I had installed were restricting some of the cooling air flow.
Hank
PS. I'll be at Road Atlanta this weekend. Should be seriously hot this weekend.

Was this discussion talking about the gage readings for "Water temps" because my GT3 does not have an Oil Temp gage, but I do have a "water temp gage: Which brings me to my question?????
This weekend I tracked my car at Nelsons Ledges, it was hot 92 to 95 at the Hot point. I was running my car pretty hard and notice that my Water temp climbed to about 225 degrees, Normal is at about 200 degrees. It would return back to 200 as soon as I stopped pushing the car hard.
1) anyone concerned about running temps at 225 to 230?
2) any one use that water wetter and any reason I should not add that product to my car???
Thanks for your opinions as always.
