Valentine 1 is excellent-I have one in every car and you can hot wire it to your visor-directly to your battery!!
Suction cups won't be in the middle of the windshield!!

I had a K40 built in in my 993TT and it was great for finding cell towers- Police on the other hand were another matter. The V1 so far with 1 993TT-1 996GT3 and now 1-997GT3 has not failed me yet, It never ceases to amaze me how far a V1 can pick up Ka band primarily used by CHP around here. Of course it doesnt hurt that Mike Valentine is a rennlist member and owns a CGT.

Whats cool about the V1 is when there is an ugrade you just send yours in and get a upgraded one for a small charge-You dont have to buy a whole new unit. I think thats why Mike Valentine left Escort and passport to start Valentine-he thought that was bad business. And he is one hell of an RF engineer.

Absolutely V1. It sometimes gives strange false alarms from other detectors, but this is like a 1/20 occurrence. Even though I plan on staying near the speed limit, it's an added protection measure, keeps me more alert and aware of my surroundings.

Can't agree more with everyone else. I've had the V1 for almost 2 years now and I haven't had a ticket since... *touch wood*

Every one of these "radar detector" threads are the same. The V1 guys always outweigh everyone else. Most of the top detectors are good. It's just a matter of what features you're looking for and what you want to spend. It's been argued that V1 has been riding off the arrows feature too long and not keeping up with technology. They do you no good in a laser situation if you're the only car. That's where a jammer comes in providing they're legal in your State.

I have several V1's and put a new K40 in my RS. The V1 has saved me many times and I always take it when I travel. The K40 so far has also proved very reliable. I wanted a concealed system and the laser difuser was another nice feature for my area, where laser now rules the day.

Yeah, right. Until your battery gets low. Can you pick out multiple bogeys? Can you determine which direction the source is coming from?

V1 for a fraction of the hassle or expense of the K40. V1 because it has better usability than anything else out there that doesn't have directional arrows or bogey counters.

Seems the best bang for the buck hands down. I still wonder why this question always comes up?

a couple V1s...

Funny I used to look out my office and see Mike's car in the parking lot...

Our old office building was a couple hundred feet from Valentine Research.
