I'm locked into my dealer, since I have trade in tax credit based on the sale of my last car. Losing my tax advantage + covering NYS taxes = 20k premium (for me). So, while I still want an RS, it wouldn't work for me, but I'm in a particular situation that most people aren't.

I'm sure covering NYS taxes would easily be absorbed by someone else given how sought after these cars are. Best of luck with the sale, polar.

The reason people aren't jumping on this is as was explained and how I feel... Pay $160,000 for a $124,000 car? You see, were I to want an RS, I'd want one with no options other than fire extinguisher and floor mats. Not even PCCB - I'd plan for some 2-piece floating steel rotors.

For the person that wants a loaded up custom car, this is an option for sure.

The tax question - if you traded in a car (as I did on my 997S) you get a "free pass" on the value of the trade against the new car you have on deposit. So if you have a $100k car on order and traded in a $50k car, you only pay sales tax on the differential.

Concur, too many non performance options for many of us. There are plenty of other US buyers that will take this car.

I think it is nice that he is offering it to Rennlisters first!

I don't know... don't many US Porsche buyers want Sunroof? If you don't believe me; ask PNA and/or PAG.

That tax credit talk is not the case across the US-
In Michigan there is no credit- every purchase is a full tax
deal..... so one would be paying double tax in this case.....

I sent a PM last night offering to buy and got no response....I guess Peter has not made up his mind. Also, FWIW 12k over sticker is well below current market price.

Which considering the current market, no availability of the RS or markups of 50k seems like a small pittance to pay for those who truly want an RS.

If it doesn’t sell here, it will reflect that there really isn’t that much desperation for the RS as people would seem to be inferring.

And cheers to Peter for offering it here first, screaming deal for some one who truly wants an RS, and for someone who really wants one, I don’t think a little orange stitching or CF would be a deal breaker, at least I don’t think the orange stitching weighs more but I could be wrong.

Interesting - first post on RennList and it's to inquire about a $160,000 car
