MPSC tires & cold weather
I understand that cold weather affects the compound of these summer tires. But, at which ambient temperature you would draw the line between using the car or keeping it in the garage? 40*F, 30*F, etc? Will extreme cold permanently affect these tires? I can't wait to put miles on mine and the weather is not cooperating. Expecting a day in the 30's tomorrow.
Thanks in advance.

The compounds on the N-spec "MPSC" tires that come on the 997GT3 are different to the original MPSC - don't be fooled by the name. I recently drove a 997GT3 & 996GT3 back-to-back in 14°F weather; the N-spec "MPSC"s felt very very secure.

bull****...i drove my 2004 GT3 at Roebling Road in georgia when it was zero ( 32) with MPSC and it was freezing rain with ice in the trees. be smart about it and its not a big deal. a few laps gets some heat in and they are fine.
Mike K was there and can testify. im so tired of all the whining about MPSC

the fact that you are not very tactful and eloquent is entertaining.

OK - I guess it all depends on what one means by drive.
Its easy to get temperatures up on the track, less easy to do so on the street. Given that most European drivers live in awe of their US cousins, I can only assume that superior US driving skills overcome the shortcomings of the MPSC performance envelope. Would that I ws so effing skilled.
Really guys, you make me weep!

I'm with you Nordy.
I run MPSC's on my 996RS on dry tracks all summer.
As soon as the weather starts to get cold (or if it rains) they come off of the car.
Yes you can "use" them in bad weather, but you CANNOT "drive" them.
NOBLEGT3 I would love to have been at that event to watch, you are obviously a driving God.
I am regularly on track with many excellent drivers and don't know one of them that would by choice use the MSPC's in the conditions you describe but hey, we are a bunch of whining driving pussies over here after all
